After the expiration of his contract, Sykkuno unexpectedly returned to Twitch after a two-year stint on YouTube.
On May 3, 2022, Sykkuno declared his decision to switch to YouTube for streaming exclusively, as the platform had made a series of major signings that year, including popular streamers such as Valkyrae and CouRage.
Nonetheless, a lot can happen in a span of two years, particularly with Kick disrupting the notion of exclusive streaming agreements and the rise in popularity of multi-platform streaming following Twitch’s relaxed policies. The streaming industry has never seen such a vast array of options.
After being on YouTube for almost two years, Sykkuno has unexpectedly decided to come back to Twitch following the expiration of his contract.

On May 5, Sykkuno made a surprise appearance on his Twitch channel after being absent from the platform for two years. He announced that he was ending his time on YouTube and wanted to return to streaming on Twitch.
“I didn’t make a formal announcement, I simply decided to go live on Sunday because it marked two years since I joined YouTube. Although I never explicitly stated that it was my two-year anniversary, most people are aware of this milestone. Sykkuno mentioned this in relation to his contract with YouTube coming to an end.”
The clip begins at 19:50.
He revealed that only a few people were aware of his return to Twitch, including a Partner Manager he had previously collaborated with on the platform and potentially members of YouTube’s management team.
“Overall, I chose not to share this with my friends. It remained a secret and I simply thought to myself, ‘I might as well give streaming on Twitch another try since I have the opportunity and there’s no harm in it.’”
Sykkuno has not disclosed any intentions to stream on multiple platforms such as YouTube or to potentially return to the platform, opting to solely stream on Twitch at the moment.
