Starting October 31, Taco Bell will introduce a nostalgic selection of beloved menu favorites spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s, all available for retro pricing.
Fans nationwide can rediscover Taco Bell‘s history with the newly launched Decades Menu, which features iconic items priced under $3, marking Taco Bell’s 50-year milestone.
This special menu will include various cherished options such as a classic from the ’90s, a highly anticipated return, one of the chain’s most messaged dishes, and other original selections, hitting stores just in time for Halloween.
Taco Bell expressed its excitement, stating, “To honor a rich legacy filled with much-loved fan favorites, we’re reintroducing five of the most sought-after nostalgic items from our first five decades.” The featured items are:
- ‘60s – Tostada: An original 1962 menu item, this crispy corn tostada is layered with refried beans, a zesty red sauce, topped with lettuce and cheese, priced at $2.19.
- ‘70s – Green Sauce Burrito: This popular and often modified burrito is filled with refried beans, onions, cheddar cheese, and a spicy green sauce made from chili, tomatillos, and jalapeños for $2.49.
- ‘80s – Meximelt: A highly sought-after item featuring a combination of pico de gallo, mozzarella, cheddar, Monterey Jack cheeses, and seasoned beef wrapped in a tortilla, available for $2.99.
- ‘90s – Gordita Supreme: The return of the Beef Gordita Supreme for $2.99 includes warm flatbread stuffed with seasoned beef, reduced-fat sour cream, crisp lettuce, a blend of three cheeses, and diced tomatoes.
- ‘00s – Caramel Apple Empanada: Originally debuted in the year 2000, this favorite features a crispy outer shell filled with apple pieces and rich caramel, coming back on November 21 for just $2.99 for a limited time.
Additionally, Taco Bell will introduce a new $7 “Luxe Cravings Box” that features the popular Beef Gordita Supreme along with a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Double Stacked Taco, nacho cheese sauce with chips, and a medium drink.
In conjunction with this exciting promotion, special throwback merchandise will be released on October 29, including “limited-edition decades hoodies” and unique stainless-steel cups celebrating designs from the ’60s through the 2000s.
Customers also have the chance to upgrade their medium drink purchases to a “limited-edition decades cup,” available until supplies run out.
As the latest chain to dive into nostalgia, Taco Bell follows in the footsteps of other fast-food giants, such as McDonald’s, which recently unveiled a Collector’s Meal with commemorative cups celebrating its most iconic periods.
