The scenario also involved NCT members unfollowing Taeil on their personal Instagram accounts, which was followed by numerous fans swiftly criticizing the idol through their words and actions.

Furthermore, another contentious issue happened to overlap with Taeil’s situation.

On the social media platform X (Twitter), speculation arose among users about Taeil’s possible involvement in the “Nth Room”case, which had gained nationwide attention in South Korea.

“Nth Room”refers to an illicit chat room where specific individuals congregate to distribute extremely exploitative and graphic material featuring women or underage girls. These chat rooms are infamous for their involvement in violent, abusive, blackmailing, and other abhorrent acts.

Despite some netizens spreading a rumor alleging that Taeil’s case may have been just the beginning and that over 200 idols could be involved in the illegal “Nth Room,”others disagreed with the speculation and its spread.

Additionally, it was reported by KBS that the Bangpae Police Station verified that Taeil was formally charged with “unspecified sexual crimes”in June and has been under investigation since then. Furthermore, the authorities confirmed that the victim in question is an adult woman.
