Once again, Tak Jae Hoon, the renowned singer and entertainer, has sparked controversy with comments made on his popular YouTube show, “No Back Tak Jae Hoon.”
The most recent episode highlighted a reunion with the famous second-generation girl group KARA, commemorating their 15th year since reuniting in 2022.
Despite the festive atmosphere, the show took an unforeseen twist when Tak Jae Hoon made what many consider to be offensive remarks towards the group, specifically targeting member Nicole.
In a segment about KARA’s reunion and recent endeavors, Tak Jae Hoon used the term “ahjummas”to refer to the members. This term is commonly used in Korean culture to describe married or middle-aged women.

The remark was directed towards Nicole, receiving swift backlash from both viewers and netizens.
Despite its harmless connotations in certain situations, the term “ahjumma”has acquired a negative connotation and is frequently used disrespectfully towards women in online discussions.
Despite the swift response of netizens on various online platforms expressing their dissatisfaction, many condemned Tak Jae Hoon’s use of words as being disrespectful and discriminatory towards age.
Criticism inundated comment threads on social media platforms and community forums, calling attention to the harmful impact of such remarks in perpetuating stereotypes and diminishing the value of women, especially in the public eye.

It was noted by one commenter:
“Calling Nicole an ‘ahjumma’ was not just rude but completely out of line. She’s significantly younger than Tak Jae Hoon, and using such a term in this context is demeaning.”
A different user shared their disappointment, stating:
“It’s disheartening to see someone of Tak Jae Hoon’s stature making such thoughtless comments on a platform that reaches a wide audience.”
But why is Jaehoon’s face like that?? No way??

The incident has caused a wider conversation on social media regarding ageism and sexism in the entertainment industry, leading to demands for public figures to be more sensitive and aware in their actions.
The height of rudeness. I don’t want to see it anywhere. Why do you keep crawling out when there is no demand for supply, grandpa?

It was stressed by numerous fans and supporters of KARA and Nicole that it is important to have respectful conversations and treat artists with respect, regardless of their age or gender.
It’s really rude to use the word “ajumma” like that.
