The beloved Tales of series, which has been entertaining fans for many years, will soon reach its 30th anniversary in December of 2024. To commemorate this milestone, the timeless game, Tales of Graces f, will be remastered and released on January 17, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
The original version of Tales of Graces was launched on the Wii in 2009, followed by an enhanced version, Tales of Graces f, on the PlayStation 3 in 2010. The upcoming release of Tales of Graces f Remastered will feature all the improvements from Graces f, such as a new playable character and an added story chapter. Additionally, the remastered version will include the DLC from the original game, which mainly consists of character costumes.
Besides the typical visual enhancements of a remastered version, the latest installment of Tales of Graces f will also feature some beneficial improvements to gameplay. In addition to the addition of an automatic save function, players will now have the ability to turn enemy encounters on or off. While encountering enemies on the overworld typically requires quick thinking and evasion, disabling encounters in the game’s settings will allow for uninterrupted exploration. This is a great feature for those looking for a more difficult playthrough or who wish to revisit areas without the hassle of fighting enemies.
The remaster of Tales of Graces f is undoubtedly an exciting addition to the series, with improved graphics and new features. However, its biggest achievement is making classic Tales of titles, aside from Vesperia and Symphonia, accessible on modern platforms. This release marks the first time the game has been re-released since its 2010 debut on PlayStation 3. While there may be more announcements to come leading up to the Tales of 30th anniversary in December, fans can look forward to this highly anticipated remastered version in the meantime.
