1. How to Defeat the Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth: Wukong

The Yellow Wind Sage, featured in Black Myth: Wukong, serves as the formidable Yaoguai King boss in Chapter 2, serving as a major obstacle to overcome in order to advance to Chapter 3.

The boss starts off as a formidable enemy with high health, but his straightforward attacks and clear signals make him relatively effortless to battle against. Utilize your Transformation spell, Evil Repelling Medicine, Immobilize, Pluck of Many, and Spirit Skill to emerge victorious against the Yellow Wind Sage in the intense final minutes.

2. Boss Fight Location

In order to access the Yellow Wind Sage Boss Fight, you need to make your way to the Yellow Wind Formation area. This area can be reached from either the Windseal Gate or The Cellar shrines. It is important to defeat both the Tiger Vanguard and Stone Vanguard before attempting to enter the boss arena, as their essences are required to unlock the gates.

After entering the sandstorm, a cutscene will start the battle. If you’re struggling to defeat the Yellow Wind Sage, you may want to rest at The Cellar Shrine, which provides a quicker way back to the boss arena.

3. Preparing for War

Unlike other bosses, the Yellow Wind Sage cannot be avoided and fought at a later time. However, you can postpone the battle by prioritizing upgrades and preparations. Here are some steps to follow:

• Use Xu Dog to unlock the ability to craft Celestial Medicines, which enhance statistics such as defense, stamina, health, and mana.
• In order to successfully face this challenge, it is essential to complete Tiger Vanguard’s quest and obtain the Rock Solid spell. Additionally, it is recommended to upgrade this spell and redistribute any Spark points previously allocated to the Cloud Step skill.
• Prioritize investing skill points into reducing the cooldown of Rock Solid and regaining mana after a parry. Improve Smash Stance to utilize Skyfall Strike and accumulate up to two Focus points.
• By completing Pig’s side quest, you will gain access to a secret area and boss. As a reward, you will receive the Wind Tamer Vessel and the superior Insect armor set.

5. Combat Tactics

The boss fight against the Yellow Wind Sage consists of three distinct phases.

Phase One Strategy

In the initial phase, Yellow Wind Sage utilizes devastating trident combinations that demand accurate evasion. Be mindful of his final attacks, such as a broad side-to-side strike or a downward slam with a spectral trident trail that inflicts significant harm. To efficiently advance in this stage:

• Utilize Immobilize during one of his attacks, then follow it up with a light attack combination to generate focus (save mana by only casting the spell once).
• If you have Wandering Wight’s spirit, make use of the transformation to stun him once more.
• Create two points of focus through perfect dodging and then perform a combination, concluding with a powerful Resolute Strike. Follow this with a Skyfall Strike to stun the opponent and inflict extra damage.

During this phase, it is not recommended to use Rock Solid to parry as the enemy’s unpredictable swings could render the spell ineffective. Additionally, keep in mind that the Yellow Wind Sage may retreat between attacks, which could result in your Skyfall Strike missing its target.

2. Phase Two Strategy

When Yellow Wind Sage’s health decreases to two-thirds, he will shift into his second phase, which is signaled by a foot stomp and four trident swings resembling tornadoes, with an increased range.
