Pokemon Go players who are struggling to find Tandemaus’ rare evolution have resorted to creating additional games in order to ease the tediousness of the search.
Tandemaus, a Normal-type Pokemon, shares similarities with Kangaskhan as it is composed of multiple ‘mons in one entity. In its initial form, it consists of two mice, but upon evolution, it transforms into Maushold, gaining an additional one or two mice.
The four mice version of Maushold can be easily obtained by evolving Tandemaus through leveling up. However, acquiring the three mice version is much more challenging as it can only be evolved from Maushold in Pokemon Go with a low chance. In Scarlet and Violet, this chance is only 1/100.
Tandemaus and Maushold were first introduced in Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock: Better Together event, but the search for the three-stage evolution of Maushold proved to be a challenging task. On the Pokemon Reddit, users took advantage of the hunt to suggest potential nicknames for the Tandemaus pair.
One Team Rocket fan commented, “I’m surprised you’re playing Pokémon without naming one of them Jessie & James.”Another fan added, “I’m relieved that I’m not the only one who does this! I also name my Pokémon after real life couples or friend duos.”
One fan shared, “When I played through SV, I named my team members Popo and Nana after Nintendo’s Ice Climbers. They were surprisingly strong and reliable in battles.”The fan also expressed hope that these namesakes would not have a game-breaking combo throw in the upcoming Gen 9 games.
Upon discovering a fan’s deep-cut reference, it was revealed that the initial names for Koffing and Weezing in early promotional material for Pokemon Red & Blue were “Ny”and “La.”However, these names were ultimately changed before the game’s launch.
Another fan suggested a clever name, using “transfer/me,”which will certainly come in handy during your search for Gen 9 Pokémon.
Fortunately, the majority of Pokemon Go enthusiasts do not have to worry about pursuing the triple Maushold, as the variation is purely for appearance and the creature is not particularly strong in competitions.
Nevertheless, if you opt to seek out the rare Maushold family with only one child, you can still alleviate your boredom by inventing entertaining nicknames.
