The anticipation that fans had for Season 4 of Ted Lasso has transformed into disappointment, as a beloved character will not be making a comeback.

As the highly anticipated return of the streaming service’s most popular show draws near, numerous fans were eagerly anticipating the reunion of the beloved characters. However, their excitement was quickly dampened by the news shared by Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni on Twitter that Phil Dunster, who portrays fan-favorite footballer Jamie Tartt, will not be able to reprise his role due to conflicting schedules.
One fan expressed their disappointment with the show being cancelled once again on X/Twitter, while another user changed their mind and stated they no longer wanted Season 4.
Moreover, another spectator expressed, “It won’t be the same without him. He truly became the pulse of the show.”
Jamie’s transformation from Season 1 to 3 is widely regarded as one of the greatest story arcs in Ted Lasso, as he underwent significant personal growth and ultimately won over the hearts of all those around him.

Despite his initial reluctance, Jamie was able to develop into a true team player and mature emotionally with the support of his fellow AFC Richmond teammates, including Ted, Roy Kent, and even his ex-girlfriend, Keely Jones.
Despite the possibility of Dunster’s return not being officially confirmed by Apple TV+, many were disappointed at the thought of not seeing Jamie again. As expressed by one fan on Twitter, “Bro was one of the standout characters in the show. It’s disheartening to think we won’t see him again.”
