Tekken 8 players criticize Eddy’s new design: he’s ‘disfigured’

A beloved character is set to make a return in Tekken 8 DLC. However, fans are unhappy with his new design, criticizing his hairstyle and physique.

Eddy Gordo joined the Tekken series in Tekken 3. Since then, he has used Capoeira to take down enemies with powerful kicks. With his unconventional maneuvers, it was difficult to counterattack his attacks. He has appeared in every mainline Tekken since.

The next installment in the Tekken series will be Tekken 8, which launches on January 26 and will feature 32 characters. This includes fan favorites like Kazuya Mishima, Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams, Marshall Law and Yoshimitsu.

Although Eddy will not be in the Tekken 8 base game, he will be the first DLC character added to the game. The first Character Pass will contain four characters, Eddy will be the first and will be released in Spring 2024.

Tekken 8 fans don’t like Eddy’s new design in upcoming DLC

Reddit user u/S0phon created a post announcing Eddy’s return. But many fans were unhappy with its new design. Eddy joins Tekken 8 with a radically different hairstyle and a more robust appearance, notably his arms, which are more muscular than in his previous appearances.

“He looks huge, so pumped up…why would this Eddy do Capoeira kicks when he can just crush someone with his forearm and win!”»wrote one user. Another said: “With the dreadlocks. I thought it was Eddy’s son until they showed the name and face without moving.»

Many fans compared him to the MCU’s Killmonger: “I’ve seen more fictional characters with this style of dreadlocks than in real life…I will never forgive Killmonger for that.”

“For what? What is the point of changing your hairstyle? asked one user, “I know we all evolve and change, and it’s a game…why can’t you keep the things we all loved?”It doesn’t even go with his style, to be honest. Not to mention his face, it doesn’t look like him at all.”

However, it’s not just the hairstyle that’s the problem. One user remarked: “Everyone is talking about their hair and I’m just here looking at their hands.”Why is he standing like he’s a T-Rex trying to make his arms look normal?»

There are a few fans of Eddy’s new design, but they are drowned out by negativity, mostly directed at his new hairstyle «on used” . It is worth mentioning that Tekken 8 offers plenty of character customization options. So fans won’t be stuck with this new design if they don’t like it.
