Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo has shared his plans for the future as a content creator, focusing on how he aims to utilize his newly found free time following his retirement from professional Valorant esports.
TenZ announced his retirement from competitive esports on September 14 through a video where he conveyed his decision. The former Counter-Strike professional stated that he wanted to step back from esports at a peak moment after the 2024 season, transitioning to content creation.
As one of the leading figures in the Valorant community, TenZ mentioned in his announcement video that he would dedicate more time to streaming and creating diverse content.
In his announcement, TenZ streamed live and answered followers’ questions about his future and his immediate aspirations now that his routine is no longer dominated by practice and competitive play.
“There were certain aspects of content creation that I really wanted to explore. I wanted to create more exciting content and also embark on travels; it’s been challenging to do this as a pro player,” TenZ revealed during his stream.
“Participating in various creator events has also been tough. I’m eager to attend many gaming conventions, starting with Twitch Con, which is coming up very soon.”
Despite his retirement, TenZ has no intention of quitting Valorant entirely, as he mentioned that the majority of his future streams will focus on playing the Riot Games title, alongside some varied content. The Canadian star is likely to co-stream major professional Valorant tournaments and continue to engage with the game’s ecosystem.
Associated with both Valorant and Counter-Strike throughout his career, it seems logical for TenZ to branch into real-life (IRL) and travel content now that he has more free time.
While the former Sentinels player hasn’t ruled out a potential return to competitive play, fans shouldn’t anticipate him making a significant comeback. Without the constraints of a professional esports schedule, TenZ can create any content he believes will resonate with his extensive audience.
