Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo has experience competing at the highest level in both Counter-Strike and Valorant esports, and during a live stream, he shared that he finds the Valve game to be more enjoyable.
Sentinels’ star player in Valorant, TenZ, recently gave his opinion on the ongoing debate between Counter-Strike and Valorant. During a Twitch chat, he was asked about his preferences between CS2 and the game from Riot Games. The two communities have been at odds for some time now, even before the release of Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sequel. Many professional players have moved between the two FPS titles, as they share several similarities and have active esports circuits.
According to TenZ, in a May 8 live stream, he personally finds CS2 more enjoyable. He appreciates the mechanical aspect of the game and feels that there is always room for improvement in that aspect, making it a highly appealing aspect of the game for him.
The renowned streamer also mentioned that Counter-Strike has superior mechanics compared to Valorant.
According to TenZ, the number of random kills in Counter-Strike is significantly lower compared to Valorant. Despite spending a considerable amount of time playing and becoming a professional in CS, TenZ claims to have gotten fewer running or jumping headshots than in just one game of Valorant.
The champion of VCT Masters Madrid also praised Valorant for providing players the opportunity to express their creativity through the use of specific agents and agent combinations, unlike in Counter-Strike where creativity is limited to smoke lineups.
TenZ made his debut in the esports industry in 2017 as a CS:GO player. In 2019, he joined Cloud9 as a promising rifler and later transitioned to become one of the pioneers in the professional Valorant scene in 2020. Since then, TenZ has achieved two VCT Masters championships and is currently representing one of the most renowned organizations, Sentinels.
The clip, which features TenZ discussing the disparities between Counter-Strike and Valorant, has garnered attention on both the Counter-Strike and Valorant Reddit forums. Members of both communities have expressed agreement with TenZ’s viewpoints.
