Terrifier 3 Actress Shares How Horror Team Utilized “Condom” for Iconic Kill Scene

One cannot underestimate the innovative spirit of the Terrifier production team. For instance, Lauren LaVera, a star of Terrifier 3, recently shared that her favorite kill involves the surprising use of a condom.

Even if the brutal murders portrayed by Art the Clown in the Terrifier series aren’t your cup of tea, it’s impossible not to acknowledge the tremendous effort that goes into crafting these thrilling horror films.

The majority of the shocking effects are achieved through practical effects, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of director Damien Leone and his skilled crew who manually design the graphic sequences. Their financial constraints only add to the admiration, with budgets of $35,000 for the original Terrifier and $250,000 for its sequel.

For Terrifier 3, the budget has escalated to $2 million, yet this amount is still modest when compared to the vast sums other major films command today.

During the creation of the second film, the team had to get particularly inventive with their limited resources.

One standout moment LaVera highlighted was the gruesome demise of Brooke (played by Kailey Hyman). To refresh your memory, Brooke suffers a horrific fate in Terrifier 2 when Art douses her in acid, which causes her skin to bubble.

As she cries out in pain, Art mercilessly assaults her with a spiked club, leading to the brutal moment where he opens her up and rips out her pulsating heart. Delightful, indeed.

LaVera expressed her admiration for how this particular scene was crafted. “I found Brooke’s death captivating because, even with the constraints of a low-budget film, they managed to create the illusion of her face bubbling up after the acid was poured. They ingeniously used a condom to achieve that effect, and I thought it was both hilarious and brilliant. It’s amazing how something so inexpensive can produce such convincing results,” she explained.

“I’m perpetually amazed by the creativity and ingenuity displayed by these talented artists, especially under such tight financial circumstances.”

Fans can anticipate even more inventive sequences in Terrifier 3, scheduled for release in theaters on October 11. Until then, be sure to learn about the age restrictions for viewing, how to watch the Terrifier films in sequence, and the must-see flick to catch before diving into the latest installment.
