<p>Despite the fact that the third installment is yet to be released, Art’s future appears promising as writer and director Damien Leone has officially announced that Terrifier 4 is currently in development.
The announcement was made on September 19, 2024, at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. During a Q&A session, Leone confirmed to the audience, “Yes, there will be a Terrifier 4.” Unfortunately, he did not provide further details.
Back in 2016, the idea of a fourth film may have seemed far-fetched when the original Terrifier first debuted, quickly becoming a cult classic. However, the release of Terrifier 2 in 2022 changed the narrative, as it became a surprise box office success, grossing $15 million from a modest $250,000 budget.
Terrifier 3 is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024, featuring a storyline that unfolds on Christmas Eve, adding a festive twist to Art’s gruesome spree.
In our review of Terrifier 3, we remarked, “While comedy plays a crucial role in the Terrifier series, it’s the creative kills that draw audiences back time and again, and in this regard, Terrifier 3 surpasses all expectations.
“Terrifier 3 is the most impressive installment yet, transforming murder into a true Art-form.”
With the festive elements introduced in the third film, fans of the franchise are already brainstorming ideas for what Terrifier 4 might hold.
One enthusiastic Reddit user humorously suggested, “Let’s keep going until we reach space,” while another expressed a desire for a Terrifier musical, akin to both The Evil Dead Musical and Toxic Avenger Musical.
Another fan commented, “I want to see Art tackle all the horror clichés. With Terrifier set around Christmas this year, let’s envision Terrifier in Da Hood, Terrifier in Space, a showdown between Art and other horror villains, or even Terrifier: The Beginning!”
