TFT Patch 14.18 Introduces First Official 4-Star Units

The latest update, Patch 14.18, for Teamfight Tactics is implementing significant modifications to the auto battler. It now enables players to easily obtain 4-star units without the requirement of any traits, charms, or augments.

The upcoming patch for Teamfight Tactics is expected to be one of the largest in the game’s history. Along with the highly anticipated addition of the Golden Frying Pan, players can also look forward to various quality-of-life improvements and balance adjustments to enhance the gameplay experience.

Furthermore, the list of updates is still growing as the developers have announced additional changes that are expected to greatly impact the reroll meta.

On Twitter, Mortdog, the lead designer, stated that 4-star units can now be obtained through an official method, a feature that was previously exclusive to traits and charms.

Mortdog pointed out that there are specific situations in which players can acquire 27 copies of a single unit. This typically results in disappointment, as players may anticipate receiving a four-star unit. However, this is not the case, as they will instead end up with three three-star units. Furthermore, there is no way to obtain four-star units aside from using charms or traits.

In Patch 14.18, there is a change in store. If you are able to gather 27 identical units, you will receive a four-star upgrade with improved stats and a superior ability compared to its previous version.

This is an excellent option for reroll compositions seeking a stronger carry. Champions such as Warwick will thrive with this, while Elise, Blitzcrank, and Poppy will see significant improvements with their hero augment.

Despite the recent alteration, it is still uncertain whether the Moonlight Ritual charm will allow players to achieve a five-star rating, as the developers have not officially confirmed this possibility.

The upcoming Patch 14.18 will not only include the update for set 12, but it will also permanently add the new feature to the game mode. This will give players the opportunity to experience the excitement of obtaining a four-star unit.
