Picking up from the previous episode, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 episode 22 commences with Rimuru informing his executives, including Mjollmile, about his consultation with Gazel regarding the gold coins crisis. The emperor of Dwargon Kingdom promised the Demon Lord 1500 gold coins.

However, Rimuru soon realizes that this amount is insufficient. At this moment, Elmesia, the empress of the Sorcerous Dynasty of Sarion, enters the room and offers to bridge the gap. In return for her support, she requests Rimuru to invite her to all future grand festivals in the town.

Elmesia believes that royalty should not be enslaved by their subjects, and living freely ultimately enhances the happiness of their citizens. Rimuru shares this ideology and agrees to her terms. Subsequently, Elmesia presents Rimuru with a thousand gold coins from her bag.

She inquires about Diablo, expressing concern over what might happen if the primal demon were to act recklessly. Rimuru acknowledges her concerns and reassures her that he will manage Diablo should he ever go against his will.

Interestingly, Diablo seems to appreciate Rimuru’s words, and Elmesia is highly impressed by the Slime’s prompt response. She understands Rimuru’s vision and is eager to maintain their amicable relationship.

The narrative then transitions to the arena where the announcer Shoka initiates the final match of the Battle Tournament between Masayuki the Lightspeed Hero and Gobta. Masayuki appears frightened and struggles to envision how he could possibly face such a formidable opponent like Gobta.

He recalls his encounter with Boyix and thinks that his passive skill may somehow help him survive. Predictably, when Gobta charges, he hesitates upon seeing Masayuki remain still. The Goblin realizes that Masayuki is a tough opponent to confront head-on.

Consequently, he decides to unveil his ultimate power, a new skill called Summon Demon Wolf, which he acquired the night before. This new skill allows Gobta to merge with the summoned Ranga. Rimuru wonders if Ranga can effectively utilize this skill without prior practice.

Honjo Masayuki feels an impending doom as he perceives Gobta as unbeatable. Meanwhile, Milim is intrigued by Gobta’s new technique.

However, Gobta’s attempt fails as he charges at Masayuki only to crash into the wall. Milim, frustrated by Gobta’s anticlimactic moment, insists on training him to shape him into a true warrior.

Rimuru, aware of Milim’s intense training methods, sympathizes with Gobta. At the same time, Masayuki gathers his composure and notices Gobta is unconscious. He realizes he must act before the announcement of victory is made. Masayuki is reluctant to face Rimuru Tempest, fearing a confrontation with a Demon Lord.

Consequently, he forfeits the match. Masayuki’s decision confuses the audience, but due to his passive skill, The Chosen One, they begin to perceive that he has spared the Demon Lord by relinquishing the win to Gobta.

Rimuru is taken aback as Masayuki’s name echoes through the stadium. The Great Sage predicts that this may be attributed to Masayuki’s unique skill, which influences the people and surroundings, akin to a form of mind control.

Rimuru determines that it would be more beneficial to befriend Masayuki rather than make him an adversary. He instructs Soei to kindly invite Masayuki to lunch at his mansion, to which the Majin acquiesces.
