The anticipation and fervor from fans for the Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura collaboration had not wavered since its announcement. While Ohma had the support of Kengan Ashura fans, the eponymous fighter Baki Hanma had a strong backing from his own fanbase. This caused confusion among the anime’s martial arts community, as both characters were equally adored and it was difficult to choose a favorite.

Despite the anticipation that one character would emerge as the victor and the possibility of a draw, the fight between Baki and Ohma in the special episode ended with a No Contest. This was due to the interference of the two powerful enemies, Yujirou Hanma and Kuroki Gensai, who violated the protocol by intruding on the fight.

Despite Yujirou’s strong desire to experience the legendary Niko Style, he still couldn’t resist the urge to challenge Ohma. However, Kuroki intervened and made it clear that he would not tolerate any reckless actions. The leaders of the fighting arenas, Mitsunari and Katahara, were disappointed by the interruption and informed the two that their fight would be scheduled for a later time.

Despite being injured while trying to stop Kuroki and Yujirou, Ohma and Baki were determined to continue the fight. However, Baki quietly informed Ohma that the match had been declared a no contest due to both of their injuries sustained from the interference of the muscleheads.

In the world of fighting, there is often confusion surrounding the terms “no contest”and “draw,”with many believing them to be synonymous. However, in reality, these are two distinct outcomes. A draw occurs when both opponents end up with equal standings, while a no contest results in an invalid fight with no clear winner. Sadly, this was the case in the final match between Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura.

Yoroizuka Saw Paing, the prodigy of Lithwei from Kengan Ashura, eagerly accepted the challenge to fight in the Underground Arena against the strongest Yakuza from the Baki-verse, Hanayama Kaoru. Despite the significant difference in weight between the two fighters, they both showcased impressive skills and strength in the fight, surprising everyone in attendance.

Prior to the start of the match, it was disclosed that Saw’s father, Pa, had previously battled against Doppo Orochi. This news only added to Saw’s enthusiasm, as Doppo had recognized his potential and Saw had already proven himself by taking on the formidable Hanayama. As the fight began, Saw appeared to have the upper hand and even managed to bring Hanayama down to one knee.

Despite this, Saw was quickly reminded of his place by the latter’s use of the Vice Grip technique. This technique tore through Saw’s skin, revealing his muscles and showcasing the power of the Lithwei spirit. Saw refused to back down, retaliating with his own Hammer of Burma attack (a headbutt) and taking a punch from Hanayama, ultimately breaking his hand.

Despite repeatedly executing this move, Saw was ultimately defeated by Hanayama as he had reached his physical limit. Despite having developed a bone density comparable to metal, his brain was unable to withstand the impacts, resulting in his loss.

While the ranking of the fights is ultimately subjective to individual viewers, many would argue that the battle between Jack Hanma and Raian Kure deserves the second spot. The intensity and bloodlust displayed by these two fighters far surpassed that of Janayama and Saw. With Jack already enhanced by supplements and Raian utilizing his deadly Kure style, their fight was nothing short of hair-raising and ultimately turned into a fight-to-the-death.

Despite Raian having already emerged victorious by choking Jack into unconsciousness, the latter abruptly regained consciousness and attempted to resume the fight. However, their battle was interrupted by Pickle, who stormed in seeking to claim Jack as his prey. Baki and the others intervened, preventing the fighters from continuing and declaring Raian as the official winner.

Despite not feeling satisfied with the fight, Raian expressed his determination to defeat Baki. Accepting the challenge, Baki agreed to a rematch. In the meantime, Ohma unexpectedly managed to calm Pickle, showcasing his kind and gentle nature.

Despite only having 3 fights, with one resulting in a near stalemate and the other being declared a no contest, it would be extremely disheartening to witness this partnership come to an abrupt halt. During the climactic finale, when Yujirou Hanma and Kuroki Gensai, the main antagonists from both series, engaged in a face-off, the mood shifted suddenly, sending a shiver down the spine of every fighter present.

Since the audience of Kengan Ashura and Baki are known for their insatiable craving for intense combat, it is only fitting that there be a second installment to this special collaboration. Not only will it finally reveal the long-awaited answer of who is truly stronger and more skilled between Baki and Ohma, but it will also feature the long-awaited fights that never took place, such as Yujirou vs Kuroki.
