The Bayou Effect responds after Keith Lee slams customer service issues in viral review

The Bayou Effect, a restaurant in Louisiana, has issued a response following a scathing video from TikTok food reviewer Keith Lee, who criticized them for their poor customer service.

During his trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Keith Lee gave his fans the opportunity to vote on which restaurant he should visit for a review. The majority, with 32% of the votes, chose The Bayou Effect, prompting the TikTok star to dine there.

The adored TikToker shared his thoughts on the joint in a video posted on June 16, 2024. Before diving into the food, he made sure to mention the company’s satisfactory customer service.

“I mention this because we have been here since six o’clock and it is now 7:28. We had placed an order for four items, but one of them was not available. Initially, when we ordered over the phone, we were told that it was available,”he explained.

Upon arriving to pick up our food, my family had to wait for an hour. Curious about the delay, they inquired about the cause and discovered that our order had not been entered into the system.

Keith clarified that his family was not bothered by the wait time if the restaurant was busy, but mentioned that there were only a few people, about “five or six,”present at the time.

The TikTok reviewer noted that while the food he sampled was good, the overall experience left much to be desired.

The video he shared went viral in no time, causing the company to address the customer service problems on their TikTok page and take complete accountability by stating “full responsibility.”

“I would like to apologize for the delay in fulfilling Keith Lee’s order. Due to a miscommunication between the assigned name and the driver’s actual name, there was a longer wait time for his order. Despite the high volume of orders on that day, we acknowledge that we could have been better prepared.”

“We are aware of the impact this had on the overall experience and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Keith Lee’s feedback has provided us with valuable insight and the opportunity to make improvements.”

The company also addressed Keith Lee directly in their statement, acknowledging that his review has inspired positive changes in their restaurant.

“We want to make it clear to Keith Lee that we truly appreciate his review, as it has brought about positive change. We want to assure him that we are not trying to undermine his character or the value of his work, and we are grateful for his visit.”

“We are grateful for the ongoing support from everyone. Rest assured, we will take this experience as a learning opportunity and strive to provide even better service in the future.”

This review was posted only a few weeks since Keith’s appearance with his brother, Kevin Lee, a UFC fighter, and his restaurant, which left viewers in shock.
