On Saturday, October 19, 2024, fans at the New York Comic-Con 2024 event were treated to the exciting announcement of the The Beginning After the End anime adaptation, which is set to premiere in 2025. During the panel, attendees were shown a trailer for the upcoming series, now available on Crunchyroll’s official YouTube channel for streaming.
It was also confirmed that the anime will be helmed by director Keitaro Motonaga and produced by Studio A-Cat. The initial plan includes two seasons, totaling 24 episodes, with the first season expected to air in 2025. However, details on the release timeline for the second season were not disclosed and remain unconfirmed as of this article’s publication.

The teaser trailer for The Beginning After the End anime provided a glimpse of several characters as well as the action-packed sequences that await viewers. The narrative centers around a former tyrannical king who finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a fantastical new realm. In a striking final scene, an enigmatic masked figure is shown under the cover of night, adding an element of suspense as the projected 2025 release date is unveiled.
According to Tapas, the series’ publisher, this will be the first anime adaptation derived from an American web novel and webcomic. Additional key production members include Takamitsu Kono, who will oversee the series scripts, and character designs by Masami Sueoka. The soundtrack will be composed by Keiji Inai, with Slow Curve credited for producing the anime.
TurtleMe, the original creator and author of the web novel/webcomic, serves as the story supervisor and executive producer for The Beginning After the End anime. Also contributing as executive producers are Mike Zhu and Kevin Nicklaus from Tapas Entertainment, along with Gabrielle Luu from TurtleMe LLC. While the initial announcement did not include information regarding the cast, further announcements are anticipated to focus on this aspect in the near future.
The web novel series made its debut in English on the Tapas platform in January 2017, boasting 1,465 “episodes” as of this writing. The related webcomic followed in July 2018, with TurtleMe spearheading both the storyline and its adaptation for the comic format. Describing the web novel’s narrative, Tapas notes:
