Throughout the Dragon Ball series, Vegeta is a complex character who undergoes significant growth and transformation. Initially portrayed as a powerful Saiyan prince, Vegeta ultimately shifts from a formidable foe to a valuable ally in the fight to protect Earth.
The rivalry between Vegeta and Goku plays a significant role in shaping Vegeta’s character throughout the series. From his initial desire to surpass Goku to his eventual transformation into a protector of Earth, Vegeta is a testament to strength and determination. This post highlights some of his most memorable moments in the series.
Vegeta vs Zarbon
In Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta’s strength and determination were put to the test during a fierce battle against Zarbon, where he initially suffered a defeat.
After being given permission to recuperate in Frieza’s ship, he eventually makes his way back to Zarbon and effortlessly defeats him with the Zenkai boost he gained from his previous injuries.
Fight between Vegeta and Reacoom
During the Namek Saga in Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta was leading the charge against Frieza’s army. Along the way, they come across the Ginyu Force, a powerful group that includes Reacoom. In a bold move, Reacoom challenges Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta to a fight, confident that he can take on all three of them at once.
Knowing the immense strength possessed by members of the Ginyu Force, Vegeta immediately goes all out, using all of his most powerful techniques against Reacoom. Gohan and Krillin join in to assist, but despite their efforts, Reacoom remains unscathed except for his torn clothes.
This battle persisted as they aimed to keep the Ginyu forces at bay until Goku arrived.
Vegeta vs Android 19
At the time of Dragon Ball Z, Android 19 was considered one of the most formidable adversaries. With Goku absent, Vegeta was the only one able to defeat the androids.
After undergoing his Super Saiyan transformation, Vegeta unleashes a merciless beat down upon Android 19, showcasing his immense power and ultimately defeating him.
Fight between Vegeta and Toppo
The Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super featured an intense battle between two evenly matched opponents. Toppo, Universe 11’s potential God of Destruction, proved to be a formidable foe for Vegeta.
From the start of the battle, both Toppo and Vegeta gave their all, but it appeared that Toppo initially had the upper hand with his sheer strength. However, Vegeta utilized his agility and strategic thinking to try and overcome this disadvantage.
As the fight intensifies, Vegeta’s determination to safeguard his comrades leads to a new transformation: Super Saiyan Blue. This form greatly enhances his agility and power, enabling him to emerge victorious over Toppo.
Vegeta’s Second Death
This moment in Dragon Ball Z is undeniably filled with intense emotions. Driven by his burning desire to surpass Goku and regain his pride as a warrior, Vegeta succumbs to the manipulation of the evil wizard Babidi, transforming into Majin Vegeta.
Despite wanting to prove his strength by fighting Goku in this state, he eventually realizes that his true power far surpasses anything he gained from Babidi. As a result, he turns on Babidi during their battle.
Upon realizing that he is not strong enough to defeat Majin Buu, he chooses to make the ultimate sacrifice by unleashing all of his energy in a massive explosion. His goal is to take down Majin Buu with him, leaving behind a devastated Goku and Trunks.
Vegeta Protects Bulma
Vegeta’s actions during Bulma’s birthday party showcased his chivalry, making it one of the most notable moments in the series. A quarrel between Bulma and Beerus, who was causing chaos at the party, led to Bulma slapping him.
After being slapped by Beerus, Bulma was in pain and this greatly angered Vegeta. He immediately transformed into his Super Saiyan mode and unleashed a furious attack on Beerus, the god of destruction. Although it was not enough to defeat Beerus, it showcased Vegeta’s immense power and his love for Bulma.
Vegeta’s First Fight Against Goku
This is likely one of the most beloved battles in the anime and possibly one of the greatest fights in the Dragon Ball series.
As the fight commenced, it was evident that both opponents were evenly matched. They both pushed themselves to their limits and experimented with various strategies in an attempt to defeat each other.
Amidst this, Vegeta becomes aware of Goku’s true potential as a Saiyan and becomes increasingly frustrated. In a desperate attempt to gain an advantage, he transforms into a Great Ape, granting him a slight power boost. However, despite his efforts, Goku ultimately emerges victorious with the help of his allies.
