The Boys Fans Debate the Saddest Moment of Season 4 Finale

“The Boys fans have ignited a heated discussion about the most heart-wrenching moment in the Season 4 finale.”

The fourth season of The Boys concluded with unexpected deaths and a new era for Homelander’s superhuman-focused agenda for the United States.

Despite some viewers still feeling upset over the show’s mishandling of one of the best aspects of the series, others have already started discussing which moment from the finale should be deemed the most heartbreaking.

Despite differing opinions, fans can’t deny the emotional impact of both the unexpected killings and the shocking moment in the final minutes of Episode 8. Caution: spoilers ahead!

A screenshot of Ashley Two’s death scene was shared by a viewer on the show’s subreddit with the caption, “Actual saddest moment in the finale.”

Ashley Barnett’s assistant became a victim of collateral damage when Homelander proclaimed that all Vought employees with incriminating information about him or The Seven would face death.

Despite being tasked to kill the former Vought CEO, Black Noir accidentally stabbed Ashley Two instead. Another fan also shared this view, stating that the scene was disturbing due to its graphic and unpredictable nature, as well as the dark humor displayed by the two psychopaths.

Nevertheless, a different Redditor brought to light that the most heartbreaking moment of the finale was when Kimiko and Frenchie were captured by Gen V’s Cate and Sam.

Despite Cate’s use of manipulation, she was able to persuade Frenchie to enter a truck that was believed to transport him to a super prison. This caused a distraught Kimiko to finally break her silence and repeatedly scream “No”for the first time since the beginning of the series.

One fan commented on the post, “The scene is even more heartbreaking when you consider the reason why she never spoke. She revealed that she was forced to fight and that making any noise would result in her death. Despite enduring stabbings, beatings, and even having her neck broken, she remained silent…until Frenchie was taken away from her. That moment was so agonizing that she could no longer stay quiet.”

Despite some fans agreeing that this moment brought them to tears, certain comments on the Kimiko post disputed the idea that the most heartbreaking scene from the Season 4 finale was when Zoe Neuman entered the Red River Institute.

During the finale, Victoria Neuman, who had previously been collaborating with Homelander and Sister Sage to fulfill their supe supremacy agenda, had a change of heart. As things took a turn for the worse, she switched sides and attempted to strike a deal with The Boys in order to protect them both.

However, her hopes of protecting them from Homelander were crushed when Billy Butcher utilized his newfound superpower and tore her in half in front of a crowd.

Despite now being a super-powered orphan, Zoe was still forced to enter the Red River Group Home, an abusive institution that both Victoria and Gen V’s Marie Moreau had grown up in.

“According to one user, Zoe is headed to Red River, which happens to be the last place on earth that Vicky would want her child to be raised. Another user added that this was a tragic outcome, as it solidified the fact that Neuman’s efforts and sacrifices were ultimately futile.”

Despite the lack of consensus among fans on the single most heart-wrenching moment in The Boys Season 4 finale, it is evident that the episode contains enough emotionally powerful scenes for each viewer to connect with.

The fourth season of The Boys is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, you can discover which TV shows will be arriving on streaming platforms in July.
