The Boys Season 4 Episode 4: Ruthlessly Roasting Spider-Man

The fourth episode of The Boys Season 4 has been released, bringing with it a comedic attack on Marvel’s beloved superhero, Spider-Man.

Despite superhero fatigue, The Boys has become a well-known remedy, featuring parodies of popular franchises such as MCU and DC. Many see Homelander as a twisted version of Superman.

Eric Kripke’s show now turns its focus to yet another beloved superhero, Webweaver, who is The Boys’ twisted take on Spider-Man.

During Season 4 Episode 4, titled ‘Wisdom of the Ages’, Billy Butcher informs Mother’s Milk about his “source”and reveals that he requires $50,000 to obtain crucial information on The Seven.

Butcher tells MM that the money was used to purchase Webweaver’s potent spider, as well as expensive heroin enemas for his son.

MM shudders as he remarks, “I can never erase that disgusting image from my mind,” to which Butcher retorts, “I did warn you, didn’t I?”

In The Boys’ world, the spider-themed new Supe is not portrayed as the most virtuous hero. Instead, he is depicted as a drug addict who is willing to betray his fellow Supes in exchange for “heroin enemas.”

Despite not being able to physically see Webweaver, we have confirmation that actor Dan Mousseau will portray the character in The Boys Season 4, suggesting that we can anticipate further mischievous actions from the anti-Spidey in upcoming episodes.

During Episode 3, he was made fun of by one observant fan who spotted a Webweaver avatar in the Vought game that Ryan was playing with Butcher.

Upon sharing a screenshot, a user on X/Twitter commented, “In Episode 3 of The Boys, we were already given a glimpse of Webweaver, the Spider-Man version, in the Tournament of Heroes video game played by Ryan.”

“He can be found in the player selection menu. Will he make an appearance? The answer remains unknown!”

Despite not having a major presence in the comics, Webweaver played a crucial role as he was the first Supe to be defeated by Butcher and Greg Mallory. This pivotal event led to the CIA supporting The Boys, ultimately leading to the formation of the group.

Despite the lack of information about Webweaver in the comics, Kripke’s imagination has not been hindered by this fact, as evidenced by Butcher’s small mention.
