The Boys viewers criticize poor writing for unexpected death in Season 4

The reason behind one of the most shocking deaths in the Season 4 finale of The Boys is being attributed to “horrible writing”by fans.

By the time The Boys Season 4 concluded, viewers had witnessed eight episodes filled with a battle against a supe-killing virus and Homelander’s destructive rampage. The season concluded with shocking deaths and the rise of a supe-dominated American government.

Despite the fact that the show was about to enter its highly-anticipated final season, there were already fans questioning the show’s creators about the unexpected death that occurred in the Season 4 finale.

Despite the hopes of many viewers that Victoria Neuman would survive the violence, Billy Butcher ultimately ended her life.

Despite her being ejected from the story, there are still some fans who are disappointed with the decision. One viewer shared on X/Twitter, “This is a result of poor writing. I feel sorry for Mother #TheBoys.”

“One person also added their opinion, stating that the finale may have lacked substance, leading to the shock value and hook of killing off a character. They criticized the writing for not properly building up to the moment.”

A third critic commented, “It was completely out of character and the worst mistake she made for her to side with Homelander.”

Victoria Neuman aligned herself with Homelander and Sister Sage in pursuit of her own political interests.

Despite her efforts to align her beliefs with The Boys and change sides in order to save her daughter, Zoe, things took a turn for the worse in Season 4 Episode 8.

Regrettably, her last-minute attempt to gain Butcher’s approval was unsuccessful, as his newfound superpower enabled him to tear Victoria in half in front of the entire group.

Zoe was then sent to the Red River Institute, while Cate and Sam from Gen V gathered the boys and transported them to a highly secure prison.
