The Boyz were present at the inaugural Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA 2024), which took place at K-Arena in Yokohama, Japan on April 10th. During the ceremony, the group swept three awards, including The Best Stage, The Best Star, and The Best Conceptual Artist.
During an interview with Newsen to commemorate their awards, Younghoon, a member of The Boyz, expressed his gratitude by saying, “We are extremely grateful for receiving these wonderful awards. We promise to showcase even better performances and we see them as a motivation to work harder. The Boyz will always strive to bring smiles to our beloved fanbase, The B.”
During his speech, Kevin expressed his gratitude, stating, “Receiving 3 awards is a great honor and we will strive to always make The B proud. I believe these awards are a reflection of The Boyz’s fans, The B. Thank you for your unwavering support. The B, I love you.”New also took the opportunity to thank fans and promised to deliver better music and meet their expectations.
Despite winning awards, The Boyz also delivered stunning live performances that elicited enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Juyeon elaborated, stating, “Our focus was on our performances as both ‘WATCH IT’ and ‘Breaking Dawn’ have a strong and intense feel to them. We spent countless hours perfecting difficult dance routines and acrobatic moves. Additionally, we made sure to display natural facial expressions and gestures that complemented the mood of the stage.”Eric chimed in, “We also incorporated ad-libs to further energize the audience.”
Ever since their debut with “THE FIRST” in 2017, The Boyz has garnered a strong following from music lovers worldwide, thanks to their irresistible tracks and flawless performances. Their exceptional performance skills were recognized when they emerged as the winners of Mnet’s survival show “Road to Kingdom” . Additionally, The Boyz achieved a new milestone with their second full album “PHANTASY Part 2 ‘Sixth Sense’” as it sold over 600,000 copies within the first week of its release in November last year, surpassing their previous record. In 2023 alone, their total album sales exceeded 1.8 million copies.
As The Boyz continued to thrive, they experienced great success, including taking the top spot on both Korean and international music charts with their single “Nectar”from the full album “PHANTASY Part 3 ‘Love Letter’”.
Upon being asked about the success of their recent album release, Sangyeon expressed his overwhelming happiness and gratitude towards The B’s unwavering support and reactions. He also shared his delight in the albums achieving favorable results, attributing it to the hard work put in by the group during their promotions. In addition, fellow members Hyunjae and Ju Haknyeon joined in to thank their fans for their continuous support and contribution to the success of the promotional activities. They promised to show their appreciation further at their upcoming concert in July.
After seven years of constantly evolving their concepts and experiencing growth, Sangyeon credits the driving forces behind their success to the unwavering support and love from both their members and fans. Expressing his gratitude, Sangyeon acknowledges the hard work and dedication of The Boyz members, who have stood by each other during difficult times. Looking at their smiles, Sangyeon is reminded that their strong bond and understanding of each other has made it possible for them to overcome any obstacles.
Jacob expressed his gratitude, stating that the members of The Boyz share a positive and energetic dynamic that has kept them together for 7 years. He thanked The B and his fellow members, and encouraged them to continue having fun. Younghoon also shared his appreciation, noting that The B has been his biggest source of motivation. He thanked the company and their colleagues for helping The Boyz create happy memories. Lastly, he expressed his desire for the group to stay together for 70 years and promised to continuously showcase new sides of themselves.
Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Hakyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric all expressed their gratitude to the members and fans for the 7 years they have spent together and pledged to continue creating music and performing together for many more years to come.
In anticipation of their upcoming concert “THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: ZENERATION II”in July, Jacob expressed his excitement saying, “Let’s spend a lot of time together this year and create unforgettable memories. I hope to meet more of our fans, The B, through this world tour and bring them joy.”Q also added, “We promise to repay our fans with even better music and performances as The Boyz, so please continue to show us your love and support.”
Lastly, Sunwoo revealed, “We have a world tour planned for the second half of this year, where we hope to meet all of you and share our music with The B. We are also looking forward to engaging in both group and individual activities, and we sincerely hope for your continued love and support.”
