On November 8, 2024, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows anime released an exciting new promotional video along with a striking visual, confirming that the anime will premiere in April 2025. Alongside this announcement, key details regarding the main cast and production team were also disclosed.

This anime adapts the acclaimed fantasy light novel series authored by Sakaku Hishikawa and illustrated by Daburyu. The novels have been serialized by SB Creative since October 2021, with six tankobon volumes published to date. Additionally, there’s a manga adaptation illustrated by Ten Junoichi that complements the light novel series.

After his ousting, Zenos encounters an injured girl and utilizes his healing abilities to treat her wounds. The trailer further illustrates Zenos forging new relationships as he opens an underground clinic to apply his self-taught medical skills.

Alongside the trailer, a teaser visual was released depicting Zenos with Lily, an elf girl, and Carmilla, as they navigate through a slum. The visual features a compelling tagline in Japanese, which translates to:

“In this slum, there is a dark doctor who should not be known.”

The anime features an impressive voice cast, with Shogo Sakata lending his voice to Zenos, a role he is well-known for following his performance as Aki Hayakawa in Chainsaw Man. Miharu Hanai voices Lily, the elf girl saved by Zenos, while Yoko Hikasa portrays Carmilla, the sovereign of the undead.
