The second season of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses is scheduled to debut at 12:56 AM JST on July 4, 2024, on the MBS/TBS channels. The release date was announced on May 14, 2024, through the official X account of the anime series, along with a promotional video, teaser visual, and new cast members.
The manga series, The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, was created by Seo Kouji and features his writing and illustrations. In Spring 2023, the series received its initial anime adaptation, which included 12 episodes. Following the conclusion of the first season, a sequel was promptly announced. Tezuka Productions, the same studio responsible for animating the first season, will also be producing the upcoming sequel.
The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses: Season 2 Announces Release Date
The second season of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses was revealed on June 23, 2023. On May 14, the anime’s official social media account released its first promotional video. This PV showcased the girls from Familia Café Terrace and later introduced new characters from rival café, Café Family, who are expected to play a major role in the sequel.
The video proceeded to feature various scenes from the second season of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, along with the introduction of each member from the competing café. It concluded with the announcement of the release date for the sequel, which was set for July 4, 2024.
The rival café maids are voiced by a talented group of voice actors, including Rie Takahashi (known for her role as Emilia in Re: Zero) as Mao Takasaki, Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer) as Hekiru Yoshino, Reina Ueda (Miyo Saimori in My Happy Marriage) as Moemi Sо̄ya, Yuu Serizawa (Yaemori Mini in Rent-a-Girlfriend) as Valentina Azuma, and Ayana Taketatsu (Nino Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) as Ririka Chiyoda.
The second installment will be created by the identical animation studio responsible for the initial season, Tezuka Production. Notable anime productions from this specific studio consist of Girlfriend, Girlfriend, Adachi and Shimamura, and The Quintessential Quintuplets first season. The team members involved in this follow-up have yet to be disclosed.
The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses
The anime series, “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses,”follows Hayato as he returns from Tokyo to manage the café he inherited from his grandmother. However, his plans are thwarted by the loyal maids who were close to his grandmother. Seeing their dedication and potential, Hayato realizes that they can help him keep the café alive.
According to Crunchyroll, this anime series is described as:
“After inheriting his late grandmother’s failing café, Hayato sees it as a bother and plans to sell it for a quick buck. Until he discovers five beautiful girls staying there! When they beg him to keep the café open, Hayato reluctantly gives in. Can he manage the seaside shop while learning to live with these unruly women?”
Seo Kouji, the creator of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, is also known for their other popular manga series such as Fuuka, A Town Where You Live, and Suzuka.
