Filming for The Chosen Season 5 concluded in September, but fans are already expressing concerns over Season 6. However, there’s no need to fret; as one of the cast members assures, everything is progressing as intended.
Scheduled to debut in 2025, The Chosen Season 5 will depict the events of Holy Week, culminating in Jesus’ arrest and laying the groundwork for the anticipated Passion narrative.
Notably, about a month before wrapping up the fifth season, the series successfully achieved its fundraising target. It’s important to note that less than 5% of the millions who tune in actually contribute financially, as stated by Dallas Jenkins.
Although the main series will remain free for viewers, it relies heavily on donations to fulfill its ambitious goal: translating the episodes into 600 languages to make the show accessible globally, with assistance from the Come and See Foundation.

However, a visit to the Come and See website reveals that Season 6 has only gathered enough funding for its first episode. Episode 2 has reached 41% of its $2.9 million target, while the remaining six episodes currently lack any funding.
This information was discussed on the show’s subreddit and caught the attention of actor Shaan Sharma, who portrays Shmuel.
“This is Shmuel. The Come and See Foundation is ensuring we have access to the necessary funds to continue production, even if donations aren’t arriving as swiftly as preferred. There’s no risk of the show failing to enter production as planned,” he clarified.
“That said, filming for Season 6 won’t commence until spring 2025, giving plenty of time for donations to accumulate. We truly appreciate your support for the series!”
Clearly, things are looking positive, as recently, Jenkins announced that five spinoffs of The Chosen are currently in the pipeline. Additionally, a teaser for Season 5 has surfaced, stirring up emotional responses from fans.
