The Chosen fans aren’t ready as Dallas Jenkins confirms Season 5’s biggest scene

Dallas Jenkins has recently given fans a sneak peek at one of the most highly anticipated scenes in The Chosen Season 5. While viewers are eagerly anticipating the scene, they are also feeling quite nervous about what it may hold.

The fifth season of The Chosen began production in April, following the fourth season’s highly successful but contentious theatrical release.

With the availability of Season 4 on streaming, speculation has increased about the potential events in the upcoming chapter. Will viewers witness Jesus’ act of cleansing the temple? How will Judas’ journey towards betrayal unfold? And what can we expect to see in Quintus’ storyline?

Jenkins had previously expressed his enthusiasm for filming on the Garden of Gethsemane set, which anyone familiar with the New Testament would understand as a reference to the Last Supper.

The show’s creator shared a photo on Instagram of Jesus and his apostles gathered for a candlelit meal, which is clearly a depiction of the Last Supper – their last gathering before Jesus’ crucifixion.

The post has received almost 150,000 likes, causing fans on The Chosen subreddit to struggle with holding back their tears.

One person expressed, “I have conflicting feelings of anticipation and dread. This part is always difficult to watch, but it’s crucial to the story. It’s a reminder of our spiritual beliefs.”Another person jokingly compared it to a “biblically accurate version of Among Us.”

“Ah, these upcoming seasons are going to be a lot to handle,”commented a third person, while a fourth expressed relief, saying “Thank goodness. With everything happening in the world, I could use some positivity on my feed.”

Filming for The Chosen Season 5 is in its final week, but fans should not anticipate its release anytime soon. Historically, there has always been a minimum of one year between seasons, so viewers can expect it to premiere sometime in 2025.

“According to Jenkins’ earlier tease, Season 5 will continue to focus on the heavy emotional weight that Jesus carries as He approaches the crucifixion and experiences Holy Week. This season will also feature some powerful biblical moments for viewers to enjoy.”

Additionally, in case you overlooked it, Season 4 potentially revealed the introduction of Jesus’ sibling.
