After completing 100 hours of gameplay and beginning the final quest, it was unimaginable that your closest friends and allies would betray you in a split second. However, this was exactly what was revealed in this post about Baldur’s Gate 3.
A player from X shared a post about the severe repercussions of stealing from the High Hall, a meeting place for you and your comrades to discuss before embarking on the final battle of the main storyline.
Instead of following the usual path of the quest, this fan chose to pilfer an item from the High Hall. Little did they realize that this action would cause all allies in the room, with the exception of party members, to become their adversaries.

Instead of disregarding the theft, characters such as Jaheira, Rolan, Isobel, and even Halsin initiated a fight against the main party for stealing an item while under their supervision.
From the Initiative bar at the top of the screen, it was clear to readers that the player was facing overwhelming odds. The chances of their Tav, Astarion, Lae’zel, and Shadowheart surviving seemed slim, even with a stroke of luck.
The responses to this post were equally stunned by the unexpected betrayal, just like the original poster. It seems that being caught for theft and facing backlash is a frequent experience.
After saving Isobel and everyone in the Last Light Inn, one individual admitted to looting Marcus’ body. This action sparked anger among the others, resulting in a heated confrontation.
One other fan recounted a time when Volo caught them in the act of stealing: “Even Scratch was present and ready to rough me up.”
Despite the screenshot being filled with anger, another response pointed out that Withers was not angry but rather “standing there radiating disappointment.”He had no interest in being involved as he was not even part of the combat order.
Despite the unfortunate timing of this event occurring just before the former allies were set to confront the final boss, it is amusing to consider how one small action could result in such a calamitous consequence.
