The 2024 release of The Crow reboot has earned a dubious distinction in what has been a questionable year, garnering one of the lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores.
In 2024, the box office has seen a diverse range of successes. Deadpool and Wolverine surpassed expectations, setting new records and becoming the top-grossing R-rated film to date. At the same time, Inside Out 2 made a huge impact, leading Pixar to one of its most successful years in recent times.
However, the negative aspect has been quite concerning. Despite being a huge production, Borderlands has failed to perform well at the box office, and the other films are receiving mediocre reviews. As expected, the troubled remake of The Crow also falls into this category.
Movie | Tomatometer | Audience Score |
---|---|---|
Summer Camp | 8% | 57% |
Borderlands | 10% | 53% |

Crescent City | 18% | 20% |
The Crow | 19% | — |
Harold & the Purple Crayon | 25% | 92% |
The Fabulous Four | 26% | 71% |
The Union | 38% | 24% |
The Deliverance | 42% | 94% |

Despite not having the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score to date, The Crow made a valiant effort. The film received a disappointing 19%, which may seem higher than Borderlands’ 10%, but it’s still not saying much.
Bill Skarsgård plays the role of Eric in The Crow, a troubled young man who is killed alongside his true love, Shelly. After being brought back to life by a mystical force and assisted by a crow, Eric seeks vengeance for Shelly’s death in order to be reunited with her.
The Crow is already struggling to find its audience
Despite facing an uphill battle in winning over fans, the film is a reimagining of the beloved 1994 original, which is tinged with tragedy due to the accidental death of star Brandon Lee.
Despite its shortcomings, the movie can take comfort in the fact that it is not the lowest rated film in the Crow franchise on Rotten Tomatoes. That distinction belongs to 2005’s The Crow: Wicked Prayer, featuring Edward Furlong from Terminator 2 as the titular Crow and SEAL Team’s David Boreanaz as a satanist antagonist. Currently, it holds a Tomatometer score of 0%.
The Crow reboot is currently playing in cinemas.
