The YouTube channel “7th Grade Middle School”recently shared a post on its community page titled “Why We’re Lucky”and mentioned, “Although it was not my intention, when I used the IP of a telecommunication company last October at the request of HYBE, I was not residing at the registered address. With luck and time in my favor, I may not face consequences.”
The post further ridiculed the situation by featuring a photo of IVE’s Jang Wonyoung with the caption “Lucky Vicky strikes again!”
Upon reading this post, it appears to be mocking HYBE’s legal process. After receiving criticism from netizens, the YouTuber proceeded to respond with further derision and defamation.
“7th Grade Middle School”replied to a comment by stating that even though the person in question, “Sojang”, left behind a significant amount of evidence, it still took three tries to locate their account. They questioned how it would be possible to apprehend someone with a blank account and an IP address from a telecommunication company.
In a separate comment, it was mentioned that there is uncertainty whether Google will easily provide the information, and if they do, the telecommunications company only retains the IP logs for a period of 3 months. Over a month and a half has already elapsed.
These replies indicate a level of assurance in being able to avoid HYBE’s legal proceedings.
Ever since 2022, “7th Grade Middle School” has been sharing videos that spread false rumors, make derogatory statements, and body-shame female celebrities. Their main targets have been aespa, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, and NewJeans , as they continue to produce defamatory content.
As a result, HYBE made a request to the California Federal Court to disclose the identity of the YouTube account that defamed NewJeans, which was subsequently granted by the court.
After being informed of HYBE and ADOR’s legal actions, “7th Grade Middle School”briefly shut down and then resumed its channel. The channel persists in uploading defamatory videos targeting IVE and NewJeans.
