Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are educating players about the amazing items they’re missing in Act I because they’re too well hidden.
Baldur’s Gate 3 sets itself apart from its predecessors in many ways, including hiding some of the best gear in places you’d never think to look. Without GameFAQs, most Baldur’s Gate 1 players would have missed the Ankheg Plate Armor hidden in the field or the Ring of Sorcery stuck in the tree.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, some of the most powerful magic items are hidden in places that players might easily miss. If you want all the gear available in each area, you need to look under every stone and search the hidden burial sites.
Magic items are especially important in Act I, as you will run out of resources such as spell slots, scrolls, and potions. Unfortunately, Larian has made some of the best gear difficult to find, so players need to spread the word.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has two awesome items hidden in Act I
A Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit user created a thread to inform players of two great items in Act I: The Whispering Promise, which is a ring you can purchase from Volo, and the Amulet of Silvanus, which is hidden on a beach near the Druid’s Grove.
Whispering Promise grants the Blessing Spell effect for two turns each time they are healed, and Amulet of Silvanus casts Minor Restoration once per short rest, which can cure crippling effects.

These aren’t the only great hidden items in Baldur’s Gate 3, other players have shared their own clues to hard-to-find gear.
“I will add to this list: Flight Gloves – Gives advantage on Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks. Sold by the Zhentarim merchant under Waukeen’s Rest (only if you become ‘a friend of the family’),” one user explained, “and the Smuggler’s Ring – gives +2 stealth and +2 stealth to cost -1 charisma. Very easily missed, held by a skeletal corpse along the riverbank also near Waukeen’s Rest.»
“One of the most useful items, I think, is the Silver Pendant, just outside the Emerald Grove. It gives you guidance, which is extremely useful throughout the acts if none of your characters already have it,”one player said, “On a skeleton near the campfire where the harper’s loot is hidden, if I remember well.»
Another user revealed, “There’s also Hamarhraft. It is a mallet that does 1d4 thunder damage in a 10ft radius each time the wielder jumps. He is in a locked room in the burning building in Waukeen Rest. I missed it in all but the most recent playthrough because it’s not like I’m looking forward to exploring the burning mess, lol.»
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a perfect game for multiple playthroughs. The sheer number of choices on offer means you can’t see everything in one playthrough. This means that players who have completed the game can still benefit from hidden items the next time they return to the Forgotten Realms.
