The Fallout of a Fiancé Killing a Companion in Baldur’s Gate 3

After a player’s fiancé murdered one of their beloved companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, they finally began considering canceling their wedding.

Despite the sarcastic tone of the Reddit post, the fan’s heartbreak over their fiancé’s decision to kill Karlach remained. The player had initially introduced their partner to Baldur’s Gate 3, as the couple shared a love for Dungeons & Dragons, and the devastation was felt throughout the post.

The initial surprise came when their partner ruthlessly killed Kagha, Halsin’s second in command at the Druid Grove. Despite being an adversary to kind-hearted players, the player was still taken aback by their fiancé’s merciless choice.

Despite the fiancé’s refusal to reload an old save, citing it as “cheating,”the couple played Baldur’s Gate 3 once more on a different day.

Baffled by their surroundings, they inquired about the events that had transpired. The groom-to-be proceeded to confess that he had played a portion of the game without them. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until they reached Risen Road, where Karlach is first encountered.

Even though the poster was supposed to meet Karlach, he revealed that he had already killed her. Despite being tasked with defeating a devil, players later discover that Karlach is actually a tiefling with good intentions.

Despite their fiancé’s confusion, they couldn’t believe what had been done to Karlach and concluded their post by saying they had “put the controller down and left the room to get ready for bed.”

In response, some fans made lighthearted comments about the partner appearing to be “perfectly suited for following orders without question.”However, the original poster clarified that it was their first time playing an RPG, defending their partner’s actions.

“Further comments from others confirmed that even if Kagha was defeated, Karlach would not join the party due to the consequences of not saving the Druid Grove. Karlach’s disapproval would result in their refusal to join the party regardless.”

The admiration and attachment that fans have for Baldur’s Gate 3’s companions is truly remarkable, and this post serves as a testament to the deep connection these characters hold with countless players.
