The First Descendant: July 31 Update Patch Notes

New Descendant: Ultimate Valby

– Included “Ultimate Valby.”

These are the Ultimate Valby Modification Modules.

The Spiral Tidal Wave ability now features a straight-flying projectile instead of the previous bouncy Bubble Bullet. This ability is stackable, allowing for three consecutive shots, and during the Gluttony Intercept Battle, it also has the added benefit of attracting impurities.

The Hydro Pressure Bomb is activated by leaping forward instead of making a “Plop Plop”sound. It inflicts damage to enemies in the landing area, with its strength increasing based on the number of enemies in the Laundry state.

Included Ultimate Valby Amorphous Materials

The acquisition of Amorphous Material Patterns 011, 044, 115, 030, 055, 113, 023, 052, 073, 087, 110, and 125 is no longer possible. However, the Amorphous Materials you currently possess can still be used as before.

We have included the “AA variants”of Amorphous Materials 011, 044, 115, 030, 055, 113, 023, 052, 073, 087, 110, and 125. This will allow you to obtain the Enhanced Cell Blueprint, Stabilizer Blueprint, Spiral Catalyst Blueprint, and Code of Ultimate Valby. The blueprint and Code Materials for Ultimate Valby will replace one of the items previously available from the original Amorphous.

The “AA variant”Amorphous Materials can be obtained and utilized in the exact same location as the original ones.

A New Descendant Named Luna

– Luna, a new Descendant, has been included.

Luna Abilities

The skill Improvisation (Passive) enables Luna to increase her Inspiration Gauge whenever she uses a skill. This allows her to access Enhanced Skills.

Luna’s Stage Presence, an active skill, transforms her weapon into her Unique Weapon. By executing skills or attacking monsters in synchronization with the music, she can accumulate stacks that boost her Skill Power Modifier.

Luna’s (Active Skill 2), known as Passionate Stage, involves playing lively music that boosts the Skill Power Modifier for both herself and her allies. If the Enhanced Effect is achieved, the Skill Power Modifier is further enhanced, while also increasing the Skill Critical Hit Rate and damage for all allies.

The skill of (Active Skill 3) Relaxing Act allows Luna to play soothing music. When she hits an enemy with a note, she and her allies’ MP are instantly replenished. By gaining the Enhanced Effect, the MP Recovery is increased and the Skill Cost is reduced.

– (Active Skill 4) Delightful Stage: When activated, this skill allows Luna to play delightful music. Striking an enemy with a note will not only increase the Inspiration Gauge, but also decrease the cooldown of allies’ skills. If the Enhanced Effect is acquired, the Inspiration Gauge will be boosted even further and the cooldown of allies’ skills will be reset immediately.

Modules for Luna Modifications

– Swift Strides: This Modification Module boosts Luna’s Movement Speed and expands the area of effect for her performance, making it simpler to assist her allies.

– Noise Surge: This ability transforms all of Luna’s skills into combat skills. By playing the notes in rhythm, a devastating area of effect attack can be unleashed. When the Inspiration Gauge is full, Luna can summon a mobile stage where she can dance and replenish her MP and Shield.

Included Luna Amorphous Materials

As of now, it is no longer possible to obtain Amorphous Material Patterns 017, 038, 081, 020, 098, 068, 015, 049, 071, 027, 090, and 094. However, any Amorphous Materials that you currently possess can still be used in the same manner as before.

The “AA variants”of Amorphous Materials 017, 038, 081, 020, 098, 068, 015, 049, 071, 027, 090, and 094 have been included. These variants offer the Enhanced Cell Blueprint, Stabilizer Blueprint, Spiral Catalyst Blueprint, and Code of Luna. The original Amorphous items will be replaced by Luna’s blueprint and Code Materials.

The Amorphous Materials of the “AA variant”can be obtained and utilized at the same location as the original ones.

The field has been modified to allow for a significant increase, about 7 times, in the acquisition of Void Shards from Special Operations.

# Director’s Comment Hotfix 1.0.4 added Void Shards as rewards to Special Operations, but unfortunately, there were just too few. The original intent was to keep Void Fragments as the primary farming source for Void Shards, and get additional Void Shards from Special Operations. But the community has told us that many of you don’t like this loop, so we’ve increased the amount of Void Shards that can be earned in Special Operations. We’re also working on some steps for future improvements. Many players are currently farming materials without spending the Fragments at the Fusion Reactor, so we’re considering removing the Fragments from the Fusion Reactor startup altogether. This would make the Fragments necessary only when the Reconstructing Device is used at the Fusion Reactor. We’re taking a close look at how the reward loop we planned works in practice. We’ll try to finalize a reward loop that players will be satisfied with in the near future.

– Decreased the amount of distance you are knocked back when coming into contact with a trap.

– Decreased the rate at which the named creature’s immunity sphere health increases with the amount of players in Infiltration Operations, and shortened the length of the immunity period.

The spawning of Encrypted Vaults at spawn in the Agna Desert, Vespers, Echo Swamp, White-night Gulch, Hagios, and Fortress fields is now guaranteed at a 100% chance.

To simplify the process of data collection, the hit box size in “data collection”missions has been enlarged.

The indoor areas in Kingston now have reduced audibility of outside environmental sounds.

– Modified the spawning distance of monsters in the Laboratory to be within 15m.

(5) Miscellaneous – Ensuring balanced sound levels for notifications of shield destruction, material research results, and other elements.

Optimization Improvements

– AMD FSR 3.1 has been implemented on (PC, PS5, XSX, XSS).

The memory usage has been optimized for both PS4 and XB1.

The maximum resolution has been increased by at least 5% through optimization for (PS4, XB1).

Bug Fixes

The Battle Pass Challenge and Awards now correctly count enemies defeated by the unique effects of Ultimate Weapons in the UI/UX system.

– Resolved a problem where the discounted capacity cost for matching socket types was not shown on the Weapon Module Enhancement screen.

– Resolved a problem that caused the game to become inoperable when attempting to enhance a module and closing the Capacity Exceeded warning message.

– Resolved a problem where initiating a new Intercept Battle, Infiltration Operation, or Special Operation after finishing it would not automatically group you with teammates who had also requested to restart.

The description on the Info screen has been updated to correct the previous statement that the damage taken decreases with a higher “Incoming Damage Modifier.”The revised statement now accurately reflects that the damage taken actually decreases as the modifier decreases.

– Resolved a problem in which completing a mission with a previously socketed weapon incorrectly displayed Mastery Rank EXP as being gained, despite not actually awarding it.

An issue where the names of the core materials and blueprints of Ultimate Weapons were mistakenly switched has been resolved.

– Resolved a problem where the amount of attached paint was not visible in the Mailbox.

– Resolved a problem where the DBNO UI animation would continue even after a DBNO teammate left and was replaced by another teammate.

An issue was resolved where it was not possible to change loadouts while in combat, although the UI would switch to the selected loadout.

– Corrected a problem where Gley’s “Life Siphon”ability and her Modification Modules “Massive Sanguification”and “Explosive Life”were able to be utilized on objects during Intercept Battles.

– Fixed a bug where Kyle’s “Repulsion Dash”allowed players to use it on objects in Intercept Battles.

– Resolved a problem where Kyle’s “Repulsion Dash”skill animation would occasionally be terminated.

– Resolved a problem where the strength of Ultimate Bunny’s “Lightning Emission”was based on the level of Electricity she possessed at the moment of activation, unlike Bunny. Bunny’s “Lightning Emission”now relies on her current amount of Electricity.

– Resolved a problem where the sound pitch of Bunny’s “Maximum Power”skill would continuously increase, resulting in a noise-like sound.

– Resolved a problem where Esiemo would lose control while utilizing the “Arche Explosion”ability.

– Resolved a problem where the damage inflicted on the Ultimate Weapon King’s Guard Lance after deployment was incorrectly reflected in the statistics.

– Resolved a problem where the Hip Fire Accuracy of the Ultimate Weapon Executor was lower than intended.

– Resolved a problem where the special effect of the Ultimate Weapon Thunder Cage would inflict damage exceeding 1.33 times when enemies were grouped together. Now, Electric Shockwave consistently deals 2 times the damage, regardless of the number of monsters.

# Director’s Comment During internal testing, we discovered a bug with Thunder Cage. Thunder Cage should always deal 1.33x damage according to its description, but it was dealing more than 1.33x damage when there were a lot of monsters. We fixed this bug, but we also boosted the 1.33x damage to 2x so that it doesn’t become less efficient when hunting. We’re well aware that the value of items you own is important to you. To ensure that fixing the bug doesn’t devalue your items, we’ve given it more power than we originally intended. If something like this happens again in the future, we won’t stop at simply fixing the bug but consider how to preserve the value of your items to provide a reasonable patch.

– Resolved a problem where a repeating firearm would produce one or two additional shots when firing single shots.

The “Supply Moisture”module on Valby’s character now correctly displays the Firearm Critical Hit Rate increase effect, which was previously missing.

– Resolved a problem with Valby’s “Tidal Wave”module not correctly stacking Finishing Attack when piercing through an enemy.

– Resolved a problem where the final outcome values would differ when equipping Ajax’s “Body Enhancement”module, depending on the time of saving.

– Resolved a problem where Ajax’s “Matrix Recomputation module”caused the Shield to constantly recover within a brief period of time, and upon equipping the Shield would start at 50%.

An issue where the “Pitmaster” passive would remain indefinitely when Blair removed the “Classic Chef” module while Flame Zone was active has been resolved.

– Resolved a problem where the knockback effect failed to activate when Blair utilized the “Deadly Cuisine”ability while having the “Backdraft”module equipped.

– Resolved a problem where the buff for the “Sharp Precision Shot”module was mistakenly displayed as “Lethal Finish.”

– Resolved a problem where the quest requirements for Bunny’s Evolving Skin were not being registered when using a Modification Module.

– Resolved a problem where removing the “Electric Condense”module from Bunny caused a status effect display without any actual effect.

– Resolved a problem where activating Gley’s “Predator Instinct”module skill would show the Frenzied state icon and name twice.

– Resolved a bug that caused Ultimate Gley’s “Demonic Modification”module to occasionally fail to deal damage when activated.

(5) Issue fixed where players were able to use Reconstructing Devices without consuming Void Shards by defeating named monsters while the Void Fusion Reactor mission was being deleted.

– Resolved a problem in which movement markers were displaying while progressing through the Void Fusion Reactor.

An issue was addressed where roaming monsters were not appearing on the White-night Gulch: Hatchery battlefield.

The Amorphous Material Patterns and Shape Stabilizers obtained from Hard Infiltration Operations in the White-night Gulch and Hagios have been modified.
