The First Descendant Developers Reveal Endless Endgame Content at Launch

As The First Descendant’s July 2 release date draws near, the developers have revealed the “endless”endgame content that will provide players with ongoing challenges after completing the main story.

The First Descendant is a looter shooter game that is available on all platforms for free. Its objective is to protect humanity from the Colossus. By fighting against alien enemies, players can acquire valuable rewards and unlock new characters as they progress through the campaign.

However, reaching the credits doesn’t mark the end of the game, as there is a vast endgame waiting to be tackled either on your own or with companions. Recently, the developers have given an update on the seemingly never-ending post-story content that is in store for us.

In a video released on June 13th, Senior Combat Designer Jung Yoon-su advised players to begin the endgame by grinding to acquire all available Descendants and Ultimate Weapons. This will be crucial in overcoming the difficult challenges that await.

Each story mission can be played repeatedly on harder levels, providing better rewards than the initial playthrough. The rewards obtained from these missions change periodically, providing ample incentive to replay them.

In addition, the developers have included numerous endgame tasks in The First Descendant, including challenging Infiltration missions. These missions increase in difficulty and offer optional modifiers, such as reducing your defense stats or boosting enemy health.

The game’s Special Operations are known for being some of the most difficult objectives. In these missions, players must battle against endless waves of enemies while completing specific tasks. Additionally, players can also engage in Void Intercept Battles, which are standalone boss fights that occur in specially designed arenas.

Just as expected, these activities provide a constant flow of rewards, such as new loot and materials for researching weapons and Descendants.

This is just the initial launch lineup, with more content on the way after The First Descendant releases on July 2. In the video, Lead Game Designer Jung Seung-woo also mentioned that the team is continuously preparing additional endgame material.

The year 2024 is filled with highly anticipated releases, and with so much competition in the free-to-play shooter genre, fans are eagerly anticipating The First Descendant to establish its own unique presence among titles such as XDefiant and Delta Force: Hawk Ops.
