The 77th Cannes Film Festival commenced on May 14th (local time) in France. The opening ceremony was graced by a multitude of celebrities including Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep, and Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as esteemed panelists Eva Green, Lily Gladstone, Greta Gerwig, Hirokazu Kore-eda, and more.
The main attraction of the event was when the dog named Messi made an appearance. Amidst the enthusiastic cheers from reporters, Messi confidently strutted down the red carpet. He then ascended the stairs and positioned himself in front of the cameras, as if to “greet”everyone present.
In the film “Anatomy of A Fall,”directed by Justine Triet, Messi portrayed the character of Snoop, a dog and the loyal companion of a blind boy named Daniel. The movie follows Daniel as he navigates a challenging situation when his mother becomes a suspect in his father’s murder. Triet highlighted Messi’s crucial role in the film and mentioned that he underwent two months of training for the role.
“At the 76th Cannes Film Festival, “Anatomy of a Fall”received the prestigious Palme d’Or award, while Messi was recognized for his outstanding performance with the Palm Dog Award. During the 2024 Oscars, Messi once again made headlines as he sat in the VIP seat wearing a black bow around his neck. When Robert Downey Jr. accepted the Best Supporting Actor award for “Oppenheimer”, Messi could be seen applauding and congratulating the actor.”
