1. Completing the Prisoner’s Quest in Black Myth: Wukong

In Black Myth: Wukong, completing The Prisoner’s Quest is crucial to the game’s progression. This side quest centers around assisting the Prisoner, an NPC, in defeating the Four Captains of the Pagoda Realm. To complete the quest, the player must navigate the Pagoda Realm and defeat each of the Four Captains:

  • Captain Lotus-Vision
  • Captain Wise-Voice
  • Captain Void-Illusion
  • Captain Kalpa-Wave

After successfully defeating all Four Captains, collect their spirits and bring them back to the Prisoner. In return for your efforts, he will reward you with the highly esteemed Chubai Spearhead as a gesture of gratitude.

Upon waking up in the Pagoda Realm, leave your cell and continue ahead. You will come across the Prisoner’s cell, which is easily recognizable by the purple seal. Interact with him until he has nothing left to say, then make your way to the second floor.

  • Activate the Upper Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine, turn left, and leap onto the red roof below.
  • From there, drop down to confront Captain Lotus-Vision.
  • Defeating this captain will unlock the purple prison cells, freeing the prisoner you seek.
  • Don’t forget to absorb Captain Lotus-Vision’s spirit, as it’s essential for later.

After accessing the cells, go back to your starting cell and locate a man who is lying nearby. Obtain the Ashen Slumber transformation by interacting with the corpse and then engage with the man to begin the remaining part of the quest.

Defeating Captain Wise-Voice

Wise-Voice, the second captain, cannot be overlooked in the main story progression. This encounter takes place at the peak of the Pagoda.

  • A cutscene will automatically start when entering the Mani Wheel Keeper’s Shrine, signaling the beginning of the battle.
  • To defeat Wise-Voice, relentlessly target his legs and head until he collapses, exposing his weak point.
  • Be cautious of his tanky health and AoE attacks.
  • Upon defeating him, acquire The Spirit of Captain Wise-Voice by absorbing it.

How to Defeat Captain Void-Illusion

In the Valley of Ecstasy, continue along the main story route until you arrive at the Shrine of the Longevity Road Keeper.

  • Please note that in order to access this area, you must have made enough progress in the story to unlock the Shrine.
  • Once inside, turn right, bypass enemies, and make another right.
  • There, you’ll find a massive corpse that you can interact with.
  • Claim The Spirit of Captain Void-Illusion without engaging in a battle.

4. Defeating Captain Kalpa-Wave

After leaving the Valley of Ecstasy’s Longevity Road Keeper’s Shrine, you will come across the last captain, Kalpa-Wave.

  • Once Captain Void-Illusion has been defeated, proceed ahead through the arena.
  • Stay on the right side of the path until you reach the end.
  • Ascend the staircase to locate Captain Kalpa-Wave.
  • Defeat him and claim The Spirit of Captain Kalpa-Wave

2. Prisoner’s Quest Rewards

To successfully finish the Prisoner’s quest, you must bring back the spirits of all the Captains to him in the Lower Pagoda. This will reward you with the Chubai Spearhead, which can be used in conjunction with other materials to create the powerful Epic Chu-Bai Spear.

To create this formidable weapon, with a formidable Attack stat of 75 and exclusive damage enhancements, acquire the following materials:
