The Gigantes Family Closes Da Mimmo Following Gordon Ramsay’s Rant on Kitchen Nightmares

The Gigante brothers, widely recognized on TikTok for their engaging food-related videos and amusing antics, have announced the permanent closure of their pizza restaurant, Da Mimmo.

Vincent Gigante, Antonio Gigante, and Vito Gigante each boast significant followings on TikTok; collectively, the three brothers and their family have garnered over 10 million followers on the platform.

In addition to their popularity on TikTok, this trio also enjoys a robust presence on Instagram and YouTube, which motivated them to take over their family’s restaurant, Da Mimmo. Their mother, Melissa, plays an integral role as a co-owner of the establishment.

At Da Mimmo, pizza is the star dish, but the menu also features a variety of Italian cuisine, including chicken, mussels, meatballs, and pasta, all of which play a key role in their offerings.

Situated in New Jersey, this beloved pizza restaurant, a staple in the community, is set to close its doors at the end of September.

“It is bittersweet to announce that we will be closing our doors on Monday, September 30,” the brothers shared via Facebook on September 17, 2024.

“Launching and growing this family restaurant in such a wonderful community has been an incredible experience, thanks to Gordon Ramsay and all! We are deeply grateful for the support we’ve received and the memories we’ve created here.”

Episode 4 of Season 8 of Kitchen Nightmares featured Gordon Ramsay dining at Da Mimmo, and it’s safe to say that Ramsay did not hold back on sharing his opinions about the food or the restaurant’s operations.

While sampling their pizza on Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay commented, “The middle was soggy, the outside was crispy, and the mozzarella was just processed.” He also pointed out issues such as dead mussels, slimy chicken, and spoiled vegetables used in their dishes.

Additionally, Ramsay criticized the Gigante brothers for not doing enough to promote Da Mimmo, despite their significant online presence.

“Get some f***ing integrity,” Ramsay remarked, labeling the brothers as “snowflakes.”
