Park Ji-ah, who made her acting debut in 2002, rose to fame for her portrayal of Jung Mi-hee, the mother of Song Hye-kyo’s character, in the critically acclaimed Netflix series “The Glory” (2022~2023). On October 8th, a touching post from Park Ji-ah’s younger brother on social media garnered significant attention, particularly regarding Yeom Hye-ran, who played Kang Hyeon-nam, affectionately known as “Auntie” to Song Hye-kyo in “The Glory.” Yeom Hye-ran was recently honored at the 2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards in Busan on October 6th, where she received the Best Supporting Actress accolade for her performance in “Mask Girl.” During her heartfelt acceptance speech, she reflected on her memories of Park Ji-ah, stating, “I will always cherish the words of the late actress Park Ji-ah, who frequently reminded me of my blessings as an actress. Park Ji-ah’s younger brother shared a screenshot of an article about Yeom Hye-ran’s acceptance speech and expressed his heartfelt gratitude, writing, “Thank you, Yeom Hye-ran. When my sister was in the ICU and visitors weren’t permitted, you came multiple times to pray for her, even if just from outside the door. After she survived those critical moments and continued to fight her illness, your visits provided conversations and support that uplifted her spirit. The nurses told us of the love and care you showed her, unbeknownst to our family.”

He further remarked, “You remained by my sister’s side until her last moments, displaying unwavering friendship, holding our mother’s hand, and offering her comfort. We are immensely grateful. I realize now that I didn’t express my gratitude adequately at the time, so I want to sincerely thank you once more.”

In closing, he added, “I stumbled upon the article while going about my day, and it brought great solace to my mother and me. Thank you for remembering my sister in your joyous moment of receiving the award. Congratulations on your well-deserved recognition,” and he tagged Yeom Hye-ran in his post.

After the funeral for Park Ji-ah on October 2nd, her younger brother shared the deep sorrow he felt, saying, “Since saying goodbye to my sister… I long for the days when we called each other ‘fool’ and shared laughs. My heart aches as if it’s being ripped apart. She was so innocent and blissfully unaware of the world’s harshness, which always worried me. However, now all I wish for is her happiness, free from concerns, in the company of our father. I miss you so much; I miss you like crazy!”
