Despite the potential backlash from the global LGBTQIA+ community, The Golden Girls reboot, known as The Golden Palace, did in fact take place immediately after the show’s original run. Blanche, Rose, and Sophia all secured jobs at a hotel following Dorothy’s wedding, with Dorothy herself only making a brief appearance in one episode. While the reboot did not have a long run, it still outlasted the proposed 2024 remake that will likely never come to fruition.
