The Healing Process in The Rogue Prince of Persia

As with many roguelike games, healing is essential for survival in The Rogue Prince of Persia. Mistakes are bound to happen, making healing a critical aspect of the game. This brief guide will teach you how to heal and other ways to restore your health points.

How to Properly Use Healing Potions in the Rogue Prince of Persia

If you sustain damage in the game, you can quickly access a health potion. The icon displayed on the top left of the screen will show how many health potions you still have available. You automatically start with one health potion, and using it is as simple as pressing the downward D-pad. However, keep in mind that it takes the Prince some time to drink the potion, leaving you vulnerable to attacks from your opponents.

The most effective method for healing is to ensure that the area is free from enemies. Alternatively, you can use the Triangle or Y button to kick enemies, causing them to be knocked down or staggered before consuming a health potion.

How to Refill Healing Potions?

At the beginning of the game, you start with only one health potion charge. After using it, the charge will remain at zero until you come across a fountain or well in the next area.

The fountain not only restores a significant amount of health points, but it also restocks your health potion supply. This leads some players to charge ahead, attempting to avoid enemies and prevent taking damage while at a low HP.

If you successfully navigate through a fountain without getting hurt, you can choose not to use it and instead return to it later using fast travel if you do get injured.

Other Methods of Healing in The Rogue Prince of Persia

There are alternative methods of healing, such as purchasing items outright or utilizing their unique effects. As you progress in the game, you will come across a merchant who offers various items to aid in your progress. These items may include weapons, Medallions, or consumables like Anahita’s Blessing.

The Anahita’s Blessing provides a significant amount of health points (600) upon purchase. Therefore, it is advisable to always invest in this consumable if you are in need of a quick health boost.

Additional options involve utilizing items like the Health Insurance Medallion purchased from the identical vendor. Possessing this Medallion allows for the purchase of weapon enhancements or Medallions in place of Anahita’s Blessing for healing the Prince.

However, you’ll only see a return on your investment for this Medallion during the midgame. This is because you’ll be using gold to purchase it without gaining any additional HP or player power.

For those seeking a portable gaming experience, the Steam Deck offers smooth gameplay. Additionally, the Prince of Persia Lost Crown is available for those who enjoy this game.
