After an extensive run of 260+ chapters, the beloved manga Jujutsu Kaisen is nearing its conclusion, following a sudden announcement from creator Gege Akutami. The recent events of the Shinjuku Showdown have concluded, leading many fans to feel that the series finale has arrived too soon.
In the realm of manga endings, My Hero Academia also recently published its final chapter. While the reactions to series conclusions can be mixed, Kohei Horikoshi successfully provided an epilogue that revealed the fates of various characters, adding depth to the finale.
With merely 2 chapters left for Jujutsu Kaisen, several questions remain unresolved, and an epilogue could serve as the perfect final touch to the story.

An epilogue like My Hero Academia would have greatly enhanced Jujutsu Kaisen
The Shinjuku Arc showcased a dynamic struggle where Ryomen Sukuna wielded an advantage at times, displaying his impressive Jujutsu and battle intelligence, while Team Jujutsu High turned the tables thanks to their strategic planning.
However, Akutami suddenly announced the manga’s upcoming end in about a month and a half. With the unfolding narrative, many questions still linger, requiring answers to wrap up the story cohesively.
In contrast, My Hero Academia concluded on August 05, 2024, after an impressive 430 chapters. The Final War Arc took center stage, and once completed, Horikoshi gracefully transitioned the manga to its conclusion, complete with an epilogue that illuminated the futures of several characters and the supporting cast—an aspect widely appreciated by fans.
For instance, the arc concerning Dabi reached a suitable conclusion—following significant injuries in battle, he required lengthy surgery while on life support. Meanwhile, Ochaco Uraraka ascended to Pro Hero status, collaborating with Tsuyu, Tenya, and Momo to foster heroism in elementary schools, in tribute to Toga Himiko.
Returning to Jujutsu Kaisen, just 2 chapters were needed for Team Jujutsu High to finally conquer the King of Curses. The re-emergence of Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro‘s awakening, and Yuji Itadori‘s explosive efforts provided what seemed a fitting conclusion. Yet, Akutami has only a handful of chapters left to finalize the narrative. In the penultimate chapter, Sukuna was defeated, leading to a reunion of the main trio and a discussion about the team.
In a subsequent chapter, Akutami hinted at interesting details concerning Simple Domains and alternative battle outcomes. Spoilers also suggest the inclusion of notable supporting characters, leaving just one last chance to resolve outstanding threads. With the myriad of surprises and plot twists introduced, an additional 10-12 chapters could have further enriched the story.
Final Thoughts
Ideally, another 10-12 or even 5-7 chapters could showcase the status of key story players. Numerous mysteries remain—such as the true power of Heian Era Sukuna, the origins of Uraume, and the current state of Gojo. Fans are eagerly hoping for his return, and the teasing of Kenjaku hints at deeper implications that require exploration.
By briefly featuring each character in this concluding segment, Akutami may be suggesting that the members of Team Jujutsu Kaisen have emerged from the harrowing conflict. Although there have been casualties, many have survived, albeit with scars. Diving deeper into the characters’ destinies could provide the fulfilling finale that Jujutsu Kaisen deserves.
