Victrix has recently released a new Hall Effect add-on for their PlayStation and Xbox Pro BFG controllers.
Despite initially positioning itself as a top alternative to PlayStation controllers, Victrix’s Pro BFG controller was lacking a crucial feature – hall effect sticks. While its customizability distinguished it from other third-party options, this missing element was a notable drawback.
Just 8 months after its initial release, Victrix has already developed a solution in the form of the Hall Effect Module Pack. This pack is designed to be compatible with both the PlayStation and Xbox Pro BFG controllers.
Victrix Pro revealed the new Hall Effect Module Packs on X/Twitter, announcing that the add-ons have the ability to “eliminate drift and improve accuracy.”
The current analog sticks on the Pro BFG controllers can be replaced with hall effect sensors by swapping them with these compact modules.
Upgrading to Hall Effect sticks is usually a challenging task, as it requires dismantling your go-to controller or favorite handheld and delicately installing the new sticks.
This can not only impact the warranty, depending on your location, but it also demands a significant amount of technical knowledge that may not be possessed by the average player.
The recently released Hall Effect modules, in contrast, have been specifically designed to be effortlessly swapped out. Each module pack includes a module swap tool that enables the safe unscrewing of the current stick modules.
After that, simply rotate the screws that hold the magnetically assembled unit and remove it from the controller. Doing so will create two perfectly sized spaces for installing your new hall effect module packs.
It is also advised by Victrix that you recalibrate your PlayStation or Xbox Pro BFG controllers after the swap, to ensure optimal performance.
If you are in possession of a Victric Pro BFG controller and are interested in obtaining the add-on, there’s no need to delay. Both the white and black Hall Effect Module Packs can currently be purchased for $39.99 each from the PDP website.
Moreover, the 4 analog stick caps included with the original Pro BFG wireless controller are also compatible with the new modules.
