The journey of a new Pokemon Go player to Level 50 in nine months

A recent addition to the fanbase of the popular mobile game Pokemon Go has caused quite a stir in the community, surpassing even the most experienced players by reaching the highest level in less than a year.

Although it may not be difficult to level up your trusty Pikachu to defeat Misty in a short amount of time, Pokemon Go has a challenging leveling system that sets it apart from other games.

Despite being active since the game’s launch in 2016, there are still players who have not yet reached the maximum level of 50. This is due to the significant amount of XP required to reach this level, even with the help of XP-boosting events and participating in the Great Battle League. Achieving the Level 50 accolade is still a challenging feat for many players.

It has been revealed that a new Pokemon Go player, known as MattmewOrMatt, has reached the maximum level of the game in just nine months, putting other players to shame. They shared a screenshot of their achievement, showing their level and the start date of August 2, 2023.

Many other fans are curious about the extensive amount of work required to achieve this level. One person even inquires if Mattmewormatt was able to do this full-time without any other commitments. In response, Mattmewormatt clarifies in the thread, stating that they simply had no other hobbies during this time.

The recent series of events have greatly benefitted the player, offering bonuses such as increased XP for participating in Raids with friends and higher friendship levels. Additionally, select Pokemon like Groudon and Kyogre have recently had Raid days where defeating them results in double XP.

Significantly, a different player inquired of Mattmewormatt whether it was enjoyable to advance levels at such a rapid pace, to which they responded, “Not particularly.”The effort required would be immense, not to mention the potential expenses associated with participating in numerous Raids or events. Therefore, it is hoped that the player can now relax.

The trainer admits, “I often pushed myself during spotlight and raid hours to gain XP, even for items I had no intention of using. However, I am now excited to take a more relaxed approach and delve deeper into PVP strategies.”
