It’s always exciting to see collaborations between Pokemon and other brands, especially when the result is as adorable as it is delicious. The recent partnership with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has left us feeling both disappointed and relieved: unfortunately, the cute donuts are currently only available in South Korea, making it difficult for many fans to try them. On the bright side, this means we won’t have to schedule a dentist appointment after indulging, and we won’t have to struggle with eating donuts that are simply too cute to resist.

The set of six donuts includes Kanto-themed treats featuring popular Pokemon characters like Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Ditto, Psyduck, and Diglett. The box also includes one plain glazed donut. While the actual appearance of the donuts may not live up to the perfection of their promotional images, fan photos like the one shared by Twitter user @JihyeandKorea only adds to their appeal. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chocolate Diglett was my favorite in terms of appearance. Its donut comes adorned with an entire earthy scene rather than just a simple face painted on with icing.
It appears that Diglett’s donut is a winner in terms of flavor, although unfortunately we may not have the opportunity to taste it ourselves in the near future. According to an Instagram user named snackolator, Diglett’s donut is flavored with dark chocolate. Jigglypuff’s donut is a classic combination of strawberry cream filling, although it is unclear if the icing is also strawberry flavored. Ditto’s donut has a topping of strawberry milk cream, which is a delicious addition to the confetti sprinkles underneath. Pikachu’s donut is lemon flavored and Psyduck’s is described as “cream of the corn,”although it is not specified which is which.
It is unfortunate that fans outside of South Korea will not have the opportunity to taste these donuts. However, the true disappointment lies in not being able to get our hands on the adorable plush key rings featuring Pikachu, Ditto, and Snorlax with their own donuts, as seen above. Despite the cuteness and deliciousness of the donuts, it is the plush toys that truly capture my heart. Although it is unlikely that these key rings will be released globally, we can still cherish them in our hearts, as evidenced by the uneaten donuts.
