The Stranger Things star swapped Eleven’s blouse for Elodie’s dresses in Netflix’s new fantasy film: the first trailer finally reveals more about The Lady and the Dragon.
Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role as Eleven in the hit series Stranger Things, will return for the streaming giant. This time, no Russian plots and other American government intrigues: the actress plays Elodie, a somewhat naive young lady who will find herself battling a dragon.
Netflix clarifies it very quickly: no, The Lady and the Dragon is not a fairy tale! Dark visuals, a Millie Bobby Brown rolling her eyes at an off-screen creature, the first announcements, however, remained enigmatic as to the content of the feature film. But this period is now over: the first trailer for the film has just been released, and reveals more about the plot.
Netflix reveals Millie Bobby Brown, a dragon and more in first trailer
The summary offered by the platform is simple: “A docile young woman agrees to marry a handsome prince and realizes that the royal family has chosen to sacrifice her in repayment of an old debt. Thrown into a cave sheltering a fire-breathing dragon, she will only be able to count on her intelligence and courage to survive.”
The young girl may have been abused, but she does not intend to let it happen: between the discovery of the traces of those who preceded her and her desire to survive, Elodie feels ready to fight in the first real trailer for the film.
A role which represented a real challenge for its young actress Millie Bobby Brown, who spoke on the subject during a Q&A session broadcast by Netflix: “In everything I do, I am able to coexist with someone else. In Stranger Things, I can rely on incredible comrades. And for Enola Holmes, I can count on Henry Cavill or Louis Partridge. But with The Lady and the Dragon, there was this realization: Oh my god, it’s only me. I will have to be there from start to finish and give my all until the end.”
The Lady and the Dragon will arrive on March 8, 2024 in the Netflix catalog.
