Mickey Haller has been confirmed to return for a third season of The Lincoln Lawyer. Here is everything we currently know about the upcoming season.
After being portrayed by Matthew McConaughey in a 2011 film, Michael Connelly’s car-cruising attorney was later brought to the small screen by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in a Netflix series.
The show portrays him as a rebellious idealist who operates his law firm from the back seat of his Lincoln while tackling a range of cases in the vast city of Los Angeles.
Fans were finally rewarded for their patience today with the release of Part 2 of the second season. However, the question on everyone’s mind is whether there will be a Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer and when it will be released. Here’s what we can confirm.

In August 2023, Netflix officially announced the renewal of Season 3, with showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez disclosing that the upcoming episodes will start with a flashback.
“According to the pair’s statement to Tudum, we thought that an enjoyable (and meaningful) approach to kick off the season would be through a flashback scene that provided us with a glimpse into the evolution of Mickey Haller – not only as a skilled defense attorney, but also as a spouse, a father, and the person he would eventually become.”
According to the same article, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 is currently being produced.
Who’s in the cast?
It has been confirmed that Neve Campbell, who previously held a series regular role, will now appear in a recurring capacity. However, it is anticipated that the remaining members of the main cast for The Lincoln Lawyer will continue in their roles.
Neve Campbell portrays Maggie McPherson, the former wife of Mickey and a tough prosecutor in her own right.
Netflix has announced that four additional cast members will be joining Mickey’s team.

What will the plot be about?
Despite lacking confirmation, Season 3 is expected to follow the storyline of The Gods of Guilt by Michael Connelly, continuing from where Season 2 concluded.
According to Humphrey and Rodriguez, the opening flashback scenes of the third season will feature a young Mickey surfing and spending quality time with his wife and daughter. These scenes will be the catalyst for the rest of the season, as they bookend the first episode and set the tone for the rest of the story. This information was revealed during the Tudum announcement of the season’s renewal.
Despite the fact that Season 3 will be based on the fifth book in Connelly’s series, we do have some insight into the potential direction of the series. In the novel, Mickey is tasked with investigating the murder of Gloria Dayton by Andre La Cosse, a “digital pimp”and acquaintance of Mickey’s.
This suggests that viewers may see a more intimate side of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3, as Gloria had previously instructed Mickey to reach out to him if he encountered any difficulties in Season 2.
The Season 2 finale also featured Mickey successfully avoiding being struck by a speeding car. The driver of the car also sent him a message at the same time, which is expected to be further explored in the upcoming episodes.
