Although soaring through the sky and firing plasma beams at opponents gives you the experience of being Iron Man, one of his mythic items in Fortnite has a significant vulnerability that players can easily exploit.
The recent Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Update 31.20 has rolled out a new Day of Doom LTM along with a collection of Iron Man mythics, including the Iron Man Combat and Flight Kits.
While Iron Man’s Combat Kit serves as an effective weapon against foes, players need to be cautious when employing Iron Man’s Flight Kit in battle.
Despite its ability to launch you high into the sky, the Flight Kit mythic has one major flaw. Just a few shots while in flight mode can disrupt your balance and send you tumbling to the ground, leaving you exposed to enemy attacks.
A Reddit user expressed confusion over how a single shot from an enemy’s weapon can take you out of the sky. The primary explanation appears to be game balance, as these boots are among the top mobility tools in the current Fortnite meta.
It didn’t take long for attentive fans to recognize that Iron Man’s Flight Kit is essentially a reskinned version of the Wings of Icarus.
Interestingly, players had previously noted in Chapter 5 Season 2 that these wings allowed for flight similar to Iron Man’s, making it unsurprising to see this feature reintroduced for Tony Stark.
This situation seems to repeat itself, as players had also cautioned others against using the Wings of Icarus after uncovering its significant weakness. Much like the Flight Kit, getting shot while using the wings would result in players plummeting to the ground.
Essentially, players should utilize this Iron Man mythic for quick travel across the map, but avoid relying on it during confrontations. For those interested in acquiring these items, they can be found in Stark Industry Chests located throughout the game.
