During the previous episode, Shin had registered Tiera as an adventurer and she had accepted her first quest. On their journey to Fanrid, they were unexpectedly attacked by bandits. Despite Shin getting injured during the altercation, Tiera was able to calm him down afterwards.

The New Gate: Episode 6 Recap

The sixth episode of The New Gate was called Escort Mission and it began with Shin and Tiera making their way to the guild so that Tiera could officially become an adventurer. Tiera was easily distracted as it was her first time exploring the city.

Upon arriving at the guild, Shin quickly registered her. While they waited for Tiera’s guild card, they took advantage of the time by exploring the food market.

After accepting Tiera’s guild card, Shin inquired with the guild about any quests on their route to Fanrid, since that was where they were headed. He was given a request, and once he completed it, he received the Moon Sanctum and prepared for their departure to Fanrid with Tiera.

Shin accepted the quest to Bayreun and will be accompanied by Gaein and Tsubaki, fellow adventurers they met along the way.

On their journey, an uncomfortable silence hung between the two groups as nobody spoke. However, Gaein eventually broke the tension by asking Tiera if she had ever taken a life. Shin explained that they often had to defend themselves against bandits who attempted to ambush travelers like them.

Their skill set was later disclosed in order for everyone to have a clear understanding of each other’s abilities when dealing with a critical situation.

Regrettably, they encountered a group of bandits that blocked their path. Shin instructed Nakk, the merchant who had hired them, to take refuge inside the carriage while he and his group prepared for battle. Tiera initiated the first attack, resulting in the complete defeat of the bandits by Shin and his companions.

Shin managed to coerce the bandits into revealing how they had obtained information about their adventurer ranks. Tiera reassured him, preventing him from losing his composure.

What to expect from episode 7 of The New Gate?

The seventh episode of The New Gate is titled Bayreun, indicating that Shin and his group will finally arrive at the location they were paid to reach by the merchant. Upon reaching Bayreun, Shin and Tiera could choose to either stay or leave immediately.

With the series now beyond the halfway point, it is intriguing to consider how Shin will rectify his actions towards the supporting characters he left behind 500 years ago and suddenly reappeared without warning.
