The Office Reboot Reveals New Boss in First Look, But There’s a Catch

The Office will be making a comeback on screens with a new boss, but the upcoming season of the comedy series will take place in the land Down Under.

Despite the fact that the 2000s UK original and the 2005 US reboot of The Office both have their own merits, most fans of the show have likely already watched them. However, this TV franchise goes much deeper than just these two versions, as 13 other countries have also created their own adaptations.

The Australian version of The Office will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in October 2024. The streaming service has recently shared a sneak peek of the upcoming TV series, featuring a look at the new boss, who is sure to bring a mix of Michael Scott and David Brent’s eccentricities.

The Australian packing company, Flinley Craddick, is managed by Felicity Ward as Hannah Howard. Hannah’s exaggerated work style reaches extreme heights as it is revealed that their location is shutting down and all staff members will be required to work remotely.

To ensure her “work family” stays intact, Hannah sets unattainable tasks and expectations for her staff, hoping to maintain the usual operations of the branch.

The cast of the comedy series will include Edith Poor, Steen Raskopoulos, Shari Sebbens, Josh Thomson, Jonny Brugh, Susan Ling Young, Raj Labade, Lucy Schmidt, Zoe Terakes, Pallavi Sharda, and Claude Jabbour, along with Susie Youssef, Justin Rosniiak, Carlo Ritchie, Rick Donald, and Chris Bunton.

Currently, the majority of versions of The Office adhere to a similar format. This typically includes a zealous and excessively amiable manager, a young couple with unresolved romantic tension, and a peculiar (and potentially unstable) colleague.

Despite being one of the most beloved sitcoms of the modern age, the fan base remains divided over the prospect of another installment.

“Another version for Australia? It had a UK version and then a US version already,”commented one X user. In reaction to the announcement, another user wrote: “Australia is cancelled.”

“Some have pointed out that while it may not be considered a reboot, the new version of The Office is simply another adaptation of the show, of which there are already about 10.”

Some individuals appear to have a more positive outlook, as evidenced by their comments such as: “I am excited to watch this purely for the fantastic accents,”and “Given that Australian television is top-notch, I have high expectations for this show.”

All eight episodes of The Office Australia are set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on October 18, 2024.
