As you approach the gate, a short cutscene will begin. The game will demonstrate how words can alter the environment to aid in solving puzzles. Afterward, you’ll notice a bush located right beneath your characters. Use your sword to swing at the bush and reveal the word “Gate.”

Next, have Jot collect the word and fill in the first blank of the sentence. This action will complete the first portion of the puzzle. Now, let’s look for the second word to complete the sentence.

Next, head towards the right side of the area where you’ll notice a group of purple enemies resting. Defeat all of them using your sword. Once the area is cleared, strike the central tree to knock down the word “Open.”

Once you have the word, pick it up and insert it into the second blank to complete the sentence: “The Gate Swung Open.” This sentence will magically open the door, illustrating how altering words in a sentence can influence environmental puzzles.

That’s all it takes to solve the first gate puzzle in The Plucky Squire. You can now advance to the next area. Don’t forget to visit the vendor Martina to collect an Art Piece and any additional upgrades. We also have guides available for the stacked books puzzle and finding biscuits for Topsy.
